The Pelham Arms, Lewes

Wonderful little pub, sadly still suffering from it's past ownership. Fantastic live music, very good, locally-sourced food and a good crowd. Only let down by the very disappointing toilets (though a notice from the management does apologise for this!) - visit this pub and the Volunteer and help get their ratings back up to where they belong - at the top of Lewes's establishments

Lewes Arms, Lewes

Back to it's best by all accounts - couldn't even get in over the Easter weekend due to its popularity. A favourite haunt of many locals and now notorious for its successful GK battle - well done Lewes!

Lamb, Lewes

An average pub with a young crowd. Fantastic selection of rum.

The John Harvey Tavern, Lewes

Lovely old pub with great food - a litle cramped but full of character and friendly, efficient staff (check out the notice in the toilets for a chuckle)

The Gardeners Arms, Lewes

Decent old-fashioned pub with a good range of beers. Friendly enough

The Elephant and Castle, Lewes

Fresh eggs behind the bar - lovely. Drunken youths pouring out at closing time - disgusting. This pub has become the drinking den of choice for the town's youngsters and can be crowded, raucous and uncomfortable, which is a shame as the facilities and staff here are excellent.

Dorset Arms, Lewes

Fantastic food, great selection of seafood dishes. Friendly staff and a sun-trap of an outdoor area make this one of Lewes's top pubs

The Brewers Arms, Lewes

Nice little pub with contrasting front and back rooms - front room is small, quaint, old-school british country pub, whilst the rear hosts a younger crowd, jukebox, pool table and big screens with Sky Sports. Move between the two depending on your mood, yet still enjoying the same friendly staff.

The Volunteer, Lewes

Previously a drab, slightly intimidating place but now a lively, thriving pub in Lewes's delightful town centre... fantastic live music, good home-cooked food options and a pleasant atmosphere of thirty-something punters
