George and Dragon, Chipstead

Went here for Sunday lunch, it's very cosy, friendly and attentive staff. The food was top quality, as was the dessert and reasonably priced. A fantastic pub/restaurant with the emphasis on the restaurant. I think this is one of the best establishments in the area. Only slight issue was the rather tight portion of veg but I'm picking faults. Well done 9/10

The Start Bay Inn, Torcross

Great pub in historic setting. Bit of a pile 'em high place but a great place to stop for a pint and a bite. Monkfish in garlic butter is one of the best fish dishes I've ever head. Simple but executed brilliantly and straight off the boat.

The Tower Inn, Slapton

Beautiful setting and good beer. Wanted to go back and have a meal there as portents were good but will have to wait for another time. A gem.

The Tradesman Arms, Stokenham

A very friendly local pub despite the tourists as one curmudgeon would have it below ;) We went here for Sunday lunch and enjoyed quality food and the view over the common with rare-breed sheep grazing and the countryside. Service is great, the staff and landlord very friendly and a lovely relaxed atmosphere.

Out of all the pubs in the area this is one of the few we returned to and werent disappointed. Great ales on tap, well chosen wine list and a first rate establishment.

The Oak Tree, Sevenoaks

A young persons pub, if you don't like a noise, footy and staring at bristols then you're better off out of it. Crap music policy as well.

The Rose and Crown, Halstead

Went there for one of the infamous Sunday lunches. The service was great and very personable. We were presented with a choice of rib of beef, topside and rolled fillet of pork. Went for the large rib, which arrived along with roast spuds, yorkies, swede and carrot mash, cauliflower cheese, boiled sputs, parsnips, cabbage and carrots. Could barely walk afterwards. Great meal, extensive range of beers and a friendly establishment with no pretension.
