Croft Tavern, Hythe

Not sure whats going on at this place - menu has been trimmed back a lot. Car park always seems full of vans and pub full of workers ? Was great place last year but they seem to have gone downhill rapidly - best avoided.

Gleneagles, Hythe

Great now the smokers are outside !! Food is very good and the chef sometimes even brings out your order - he's been there 15 yrs so thats a good sign. Nice reasonable priced nenu. BUT please can they sort out the card parking.

The Empress of Blandings, Copythorne

This pub continues to serve good food and beer by a friendly staff - thanks to Claire Rod Jan and Jesse and all the others. Can get real busy on a fri /sat night esp if they have a lot of parties or reservations .

Spinnakers Bar, Calshot

Excellent place for a hearty snack and a good drink served both well served and with a smile !! All the food looks great - some of the best presented food I have had anywhere - try the Thai red curry ask for extra hot if u dare !! Great views of course especially on a sunny day right across to Spinnaker Tower of course !! They don't do desserts which is maybe a shame - just ice cream or fruit salad would be nice

The Green Dragon, Alderbury

Stumbled upon this pub whilst driving around the north of Romsey area - Small car park out front about 6 cars ? Went inside to find a really nice old but smart unaltered pub selling Hall Woodhouse beers. There is a very nice garden out back where we had a most enjoyable meal. Although they were quite busy when we arrived 1pm on a Saturday the Landlady made suitable apologies beforehand saying the food may be delayed - it wasn't that much - and she also made time to chat to us answering questions about the pub and village. We will certainly be going there again - Excellent

The Walhampton Arms, Walhampton Hill

This used to be known as 'Towles' restaurant. Excellent food - try the carvery !! - again more of a restaurant maybe - place was empty by 10.15 night we were there!!

The Fighting Cocks, Godshill

Excellent pub - superb food - great staff - good beer - well worth the drive out on a summers evening. Don't forget to look at the wall mural depicting forest life - done by a local artist. We were not sure if it was a painting or wallpaper at first. !!!

Gleneagles, Hythe

Visited this pub for a celebration dinner for family member who has just retired. The food was excellent as was the service supplied by very pleasant ladies - everything for 30 people arrived piping hot and generous portions. The pub itself was packed but not noisy. Ace place !!! One gripe would be the car park which seems to be used as an overnight park for commercial 'white vans' - please mark the parking bays in paint - drivers may then park less higgelty-piggelty """"

Croft Tavern, Hythe

Pub continues to serve good food but still gives that feeling that its just a glorified restaurant - also anynone working there and reading this might like to go round and replace the increasing number of lamps without/blown bulbs !!!

The Hole in The Wall, Southsea

Visited this pub last year before seeing a show at the nearby Kings Theatre - could easily hvae spent the whole night in this great pub. Very friendly Landlord and other drinkers. Spent a while asking landlord about previous uses for the building - beer was excellent and food fabulous - reminds one of what pubs used to be like - also surrounding street is pleasing on the eye - almost Dickensian !!

Lovely pub in a true village in the New Forest. We have yet to eat here but the menu and food we saw being served looked mouthwatering. The staff are very friendly and the interior is quaint with an abundance off 'potties' !! Great place

The Cuckoo Inn, Hamptworth

We drove here one warm summer evening last year and we amazed at how nice this tiny pub is. Mine host was like a one man cabaret act - very witty and charming. A true gem of a pub which hopefully will always stay that way. They even sell jars of pickles etc on the bar - now how many pubs do that !!

Croft Tavern, Hythe

Food here is very good and at the moment they have a 2 meals for 7 promotion going. Gets pretty busy at times...maybe more a dining pub than a local boozer ?
