Lovely location, nice old pub with a good food and drink selection. The bar is very very small so service can be slow on a sunny day. A good pub to enjoy good company and watch the world go by. There's not much parking locally, Avoncliff is a hamlet, so park in Bradford and walk the 2 miles along the canal.

This friendly and welcoming pub provides excellent food and drink for locals and visitors alike. The Kennet and Avon canal is a stone's throw away, making it a popular mooring point. The beer garden is an oasis of calm on a summer's day, while a log fire offers comfort on a winter's night. The perfect local.

Lovely little pub just off the main drag in Bath. The beer, wine and food are excellent but the staff could be a bit more enthusiastic. They give the impression that they are doing you a favour. That said, this is my favourite pub in Bath by far.

A welcome change from the snootiness of some Bath pubs and bars, the Bell has an unpretentious worn-behind-the-ears feel and attracts a bohemian crowd. There are up to 10 real ales on offer at any time. This is a drinking pub, eat somewhere else before you come.
Get a table outdoors on a hot Saturday night and enjoy this fantastic pub.

The Barge Inn, Bradford on Avon
Funny sort of place. Nice for hot days when you can sit outside but the bar area is very functional and not cosy. Good beer and wine though.

A welcoming, athmosphere town centre pub with many charms. Note that they don't do bar food in the evenings so make sure you book a table in the popular upstairs restaurant. Ferociously hot in summer, this pub suffers from poor ventilation. It'll be a lot better when the smoking ban comes in.

The Canal Tavern, Bradford on Avon
This pub changed hands this summer and the new owners don't have much of a clue. It's a nice location and has a nice beer garden, but don't order a Guinness!

The Castle, Bradford on Avon
The Castle is a great pub and a massive improvement on the former incarnation of this pub. However, recent price increases have put the food above the price which I think is acceptable in a pub (even for food of the quality served). It seems I'm not alone in this, as on our past few visits, it's been much quieter than we've seen it previously. Shame, but I'm sure that they've found it unavoidable.
