The George, Beckenham

Called in here last week, not very busy and I got served quite fast, as it was quiet I could have a good look about, the place is filthy! The seats look like they have been taken from an old Route master bus, the carpet sticks to your shoes, and the toilets should be condemned.
This pub could be so much better if a few quid was spent on it. If the owners are not careful it will really go down hill.

The Coach and Horses, Beckenham

I went in last weekend, and enjoyed a few pints, it seems a lot cleaner and less smokey, nice bar staff, over all a nice evening

The George, Beckenham

Bromleyjon is correct, this pub is now the smoking centre of Beckenham. I popped in this evening and it was heaving full of pissed up people smoking. we waited atleast 5 mins to get served, and to top it all they now play loud music!

Yr Hen Dderwan, Carmarthen

Had a few pints here last week, very very clean, great choice of real ales, helpful staff. . . . overall a very enjoyable visit.

The Uplands Bar and Brasserie, East Dulwich

Popped in Saturday lunch time for a drink & a meal. It was nice and clean, and a fair choice of beers, plus the food was good.
The only thing that let it down was the place was full of 3 wheeled buggys and the noisey kids that go with them.

The Bricklayers Arms, Beckenham

It's closed . . . . Yippee!!!!!!!!!!
This pub would be better off as a car park

The Bricklayers Arms, Beckenham

I went there last week with my brother who was over from the Far East on holiday. He was shocked at the state of the place. Some customers were squaring' up to each other and others were asleep in the chairs and the rest were so drunk they wouldn't have known what day it was.
It was as if the local bail hostel had closed down and moved in to this once reliable, and honest pub.

The Moon and Stars, Penge

Charlton Barry is right.
The Moon & Stars could do with a good deep clean, the toilets have the smell of a public toilet on a summers day, the area around the bar is sticky to the touch, real ales regularly run out and are not replaced. Sadly this is not a Moon and Stars peculiarity, more like every Weatherspoons.
On a positive note the beer, they do have is good and the staff are helpful and knowledgeable. The last time I went there the food was delivered promptly and was good.
I just wish they would charge an extra couple of pence a pint so the place could be spruced up a bit.
This is a good pub, that serves good ales and meals at great prices I dont want to knock it, but it really does need 'prettying up' a bit.

Patrick's, Beckenham

Hate to disagree with the comments so far, but here goes. Patricks is a noisy, smoke filled, lager louts dream! No real ale, just the usual choice of mind altering lagers. The TV was babbling on, and was so loud I couldn't even have a conversation, if I want to watch TV I can watch it at home.

The Bricklayers Arms, Beckenham

I went in to the Bricklayes just prior to the refurbishment and afterwards. I agree that the only noticable change was that I could see through the windows. Beer was bad, and drinks served in glasses which were dirty. there are much better places to drink in Beckenham
