The Bed Bar, Woking

Policeman kicked in the face trying to escort two 17-year-olds out of here last weekend. Local press if full of it. Hmmmm...

The Duke of Cumberland, Henley

The Cucumber! It's out of the wayishness makes it even more lovely - would move here if I could afford it just so it could be my local. A very special place unlike any other. Respect, enjoy and play nicely :o)

The Maybury Inn, Maybury

Refurbishment fantastic - been here for lunch with kids and dinner with friends - both great experiences. Food nice. Staff friendly and hospitable. Attracts a cool crowd in the evening. Shame the location (at a T-junction of fairly busy roads) spoils the outdoor seating area.

The Anchor, Wisley

Overwhelming numbers of people here despite arriving for Sunday lunch at 11.45am. Picturesque setting ruined by the road and traffic jams all around it. Nightmare venue for anyone with kids under 5 - garden area is not fenced at all so within no time they could either be on the road or in the canal - NOT relaxing! Food tries to be gastro but not great. OK range of beers. Queue system insane. If you want a pretty spot to relax and drink beer in you can do much much better...

The Olive Tree, Jacobs Well

Pricey but a really nice venue and great quality food so overall good value for money. There are very few nice places to eat and drink around Woking - totally worth trying out. But it is a restaurant really and not a pub and not great for kids. You'll have much more fun as a couple or with friends.

The Saddlers Arms, Ripley

Looks lovely from the outside - we had high hopes... strong smell of boiling cabbage permeated the small seating area. Very poor food, tatty condition, couldn't wait to get out.
