Old Bell, Warminster

The pub looked like it has a set of loyal customers, they all seemed to be enjoying themselves, we had good beer but we wanted to eat so we sat in the back room and the food was excellent "pub grub" the ham was cut thickly and my ham egg and chips was filling and tasty.

The Organ Inn, Warminster

I was only able to visit this pub once on a Saturday evening and only had time for a pint, It was an excellent pint, the clientele was mixed and it felt like the sort of pub I could have stayed all evening. No Music, No TV and no fruit machines, a haven of peace.

The Nottingham Arms, Tewkesbury

The bar had plenty of people in it on a Saturday night all enjoying the good real ale, Sunday night they shut early :-( so we didn't get to enjoy them again.

Ye Olde Black Bear, Tewkesbury

When we went there earlier in the year the had an unusual green 'real' ale which tasted OK, an interesting interior though.

Tudor House, Tewkesbury

This was my kind of bar - due to an electrical problem they could only serve real ale, :-)
Tried it twice over the weekend and a very comfortable and historic bar to enjoy real ale in.

The Bell Hotel, Tewkesbury

Looked into this pub earlier this year and it does feel like a hotel bar, which gave it a funny atmosphere and the beer was only OK.

The Royal Hop Pole, Tewkesbury

Stayed at this pub earlier in the year - It was great the best Wetherspoons I have ever been to by far.
All beers in great shape over the weekend we stayed there, tasty food served with a smile.

The Victoria, Clifton

A pub I found by accident near to the hotel I stayed at.
A real find a comfy little corner pub with lots of character, a good selection of beers in good condition and a warm and friendly welcome.

The Merchants Arms, Hotwells

Visited whilst trying to see a few pubs in the area as I was only around for one night. This pub had charm, friendly locals and Bath ales in tip top condition. Absolutely loved this pub.

Grain Barge, Bristol

I was in the area on a business trip so was trying a few bars. I stopped here for some food and a beer - excellent food and good value - and locally brewed beer in superb condition. Also interesting being on a boat :-)

Unicorn Inn, Canterbury

A traditional pub really good beer selection, cozy surrondings and extremely efficient bar staff.
A well deserved CAMRA recognised pub.

Thomas Becket, Canterbury

Had a single drink in here on the 8th of Feb, beer was in good nick, selection less than appeared to be advertised outside. It looks set up for food with drink as the sideline though.

The Parrot, Canterbury

The Parrot is a wonderful pub to eat and drink in with real fires extremely helpful staff, they extended the table so we could all sit together. The food and the ale were excellent.

The Old Buttermarket, Canterbury

Went in on the 7th of Feb, Good Beer, Good Food, Friendly Staff. Slow Kitchen lost our food which marred the visit as we had to wait well over an hour for food which was promised in 30mins. We did get a free round of drinks out of it - and the manager said he had gone up to the kitchen to fry my eggs personally so I know he actually cared.
I would still say this was a pub worth visiting.

The Kings Head, Canterbury

A friendly "local pub" with excellent beer - it was close to where we were staying and we used it for the final drinks of evening, we found a warm welcome here both nights we went in.

The Ship Inn, Rye

Walked into a quirkily decorated pub with loads of candles which impressed the wife - the ESB impressed me and the drinking side of the premises filled up quickly - although I didn't see anyone go through to eat. Felt very comfortable in here.

The Pipemarkers Arms, Rye

Good beer of a Saturday night - but the general carousing atmosphere left one feeling a little out of place.

10 Feb 2008 22:25

A pub with a limited but well kept real ale selection, friendly bar staff and good food.

The Star Inn, Bath

Not too far out of town for us as we stayed in George Street, a pub from a bygone age split into seperate bars, beers as good as anywhere, friendly staff and thefeeling you are in a 'local' not a tourist trap.
