The Mill Inn, Aldeburgh

Morrismen, a pub where you are not critical of your fellow drinkers ! Was it empty ?

Seriously, on my first visit for a couple of years recently I found it pleasant enough. Decent sized seating area with some good outlooks but strangely remote from aforementioned small bar at the back. Beer quality good - Aldeburgh prices of course.

4.10p for a 4.4% guest beer ?? No thanks !! Rating lowered accordingly.

The Westleton Crown, Southwold

When they expanded the restaurant at the back, it appeared that portions got smaller and prices got higher making it, in our opinion, no longer good value for money and we haved stopped eating there.

Still like the pub though and beer quality is invariably good.

The Arboretum, Ipswich

Still open and recently underwent a bit of a refurb without damaging its character. Some (over-priced) artwork for sale displayed on the walls. Also displayed are a huge number of pumpclip badges as testimony to their interesting and varied range of beers mostly from local micro-breweries. Above average foods at above average prices. Friendly staff. Well worth a vist.

The Parrot and Punchbowl, Aldringham

Friendly and efficient landlady, well kept beers albeit not too much choice (usually Adnams and Wherry of late). Food very decent but as stated not the cheapest (note to Mrs Donkers - the prices were on the menus last time I looked!). Picturesque pub with pleasant garden for the warmer months. Well worth a visit.

The White Hart, Aldeburgh

Recent change of landlord has not diminished the beer quality with a good range of Adnams and a couple of interesting guests. Bar staff always friendly enough when I've been there. Not cheap, but that's Aldeburgh for you ! What I would call a proper local pub and always my pub of choice when in Aldeburgh. To be honest I wouldn't go there to eat - fish & chip shop next door very popular.

Old Chequers, Friston

Fingers crossed for a re-opening soon.

Three pubs within 2 miles although one, The Butchers, is also currently closed.

The Crown Inn, Snape

arfajob, you have indeed only done half a job ! Your praise is apposite, but the opening hours are normal pub times, with the slight exception that it has been known to close a little early if empty (esp on a Monday night), Beer always good and the food is a bit pricey but quality.
