The Butchers Arms, Priors Hardwick

It depends on what this website is all about - I don't consider this to be a pub - it is a restaurant (admittedly an excellent one) but it is NOT a pub!

Holly Bush Inn, Priors Marston

Beautiful pub - good range of beer - badly run - they never seem to have any change!!

The Red Lion, Hellidon

This used to be a lovely pub - not been in there for a couple of years - what on earth has happened to it? I gather the owners sold up some months ago. Food, which used to be excellent, was mediocre to put it politely and the atmosphere in the pub is zero. Really sad to see a good pub having gone downhill so dramatically.

The Beacon Hotel, Dudley

It may be 50 miles away but whenever I'm in the West Midlands I make a point of calling in - it really is an absolute gem. Where to begin? The classic interior, (though I agree with the comment about the lack of real fires), the wonderful brewery and the sublime beers - Ruby has to be one of the classic beers of Britain - a real shock for anyone who thinks Mild is a weak pretty tasteless beer. It's eminently drinkable - but beware -when you step outside!! If you're there in the winter do try Snowflake. Excellent range of other real ales too! Shame Sedgley is a pretty dreary place - otherwise I'd move there!

The Woolpack, Banbury

Whenever I'm in Banbury I make a point of going to the Woolpack - a fantastic pub with a perfect selection of real ales in tiptop condition. I was shocked to turn up and find it closed - how can exceptional pubs like this close when all around is dross? Wake up people of Banbury - you should be protesting big time!!!!!
