The Plough Inn, Longparish

Lovely pub in the heart of this pretty village. Always a warm welcome from the staff, interesting menus with local produce, along with classics for a midweek supper. Great wine menu and beer kept well. A great place for either a special occasion or just a casual pop in!

Gets a double thumbs up from us. only wish my local was as good.

The Old Coach House Inn, Winchester

This place has changed hands - now owned by the same guy who has The Exchange, much smarter than both - had lunch on a saturday and food was great, reasonably priced, good choice of booze - and wine list was great!

Savannah, Winchester

Oh my god. Savannah is terrible. Yes, I agree that Muswells was pretty dire towards the end, but before that it was fantastic - where is Malcolm? Savannah now is full of thosewho used to visit the Guildhall (much smarter these days) and finish the night either, in the gutter outside, in a police cell or down the alley by the Porthouse.

The Chestnut Horse, Easton

Excellent pub, great food, helpful and friendly but not pushy staff. excellent choice of booze.

The Plough, Sparsholt

Really sad to say this, but what was, until recently a fautless pub, has dramatically lost its way. Those behind the bar are somewhat odd and appearance can at times be appalling, the prices are now extortianate as the menu has barely changed in over a year. And it seems that they are living off a good reputation that is no longer justifiable. I'd start with change of bar staff.
