The Watermill, Ogmore by Sea

used to be a regular here stopped when a landlady look over and just changed menus to things I did not like , she left and the previous landlord came back he did not last long , went back last month after a 3 year absence ... may leave it another 3 years before trying it again thought the staff were friendly .

Pelican In Her Piety, Ogmore By Sea

furnishings unimpressive , sells it wares on its location with great views outside and the clip clop of horses , but it is expensive , for the prices I would prefer to go to pier 64 in Penarth .

Heck of a lot of noise from the road outside and I mean a lot . bit it is an old building with wooden windows on the A48 . the " back " room is not very nice . A decent pint but a very clique clientele .

The Golden Cross, Cardiff

aparently a lot to spent on the place to restore it soon . Shame they do not do food and allow the firedoors off the main bar to be opened although for people to smoke although they have a smoking " terrace " smoke wafts in and is not nice. Staff are as guilty of this as customers.

Bar Icon, Cardiff

this is a smart bar however although off the most busy shopping street in wales being Queen street it is usually very quiet and I now wonder if still open . I can be there at 6pm after work and be the single customer . Can take a while even then to be served. Although polite the barmen sometimes need to realise that serving a customer is more important than finishing a text message .

Disabled access is none existent indeed the half round steps with curved edged are if anything dangerous. The Table directly to the right of the entrance is a nice table to people watch but when windows open if there is another customer there and outside smoking it is a pain . The seats are also over the air con or generator and often vibrates a lot . Toilets are upstairs quite a number of steps . Never eaten here so cannot comment on food , Last few times I have been here gates closed lights off ????? Feel it is under advertised and wonder how it survives .
