New landlord! From what I have heard on the hop vine, 4 ales on, no idea what brewery's as yet, looks like it's on the mend!

The Britannia Inn, Farnworth

Is closed for refurbishment, but Dave won't be there when it re opens so I'm told, which is sad as he is a real ale lover and did his upmost to keep pub from getting into the hands of knob heads. Enterprise Inns should be ashamed of themselves.

The Canary, Farnworth

Now called the Kings Arms.
'Bank Tops Port O Call and Thwaites Wainwright are the regular ales, and the other two handpumps feature regularly changing guests.
The pub has been nominated by branch members for the Good Beer Guide 2013'
CAMRA Bolton branch

Same here realalerules1983! Toilets are iffy yes. Usually got a few tissues to hand and that anti-bacterial hand cleaner as they never have soap or towels!

Red Lion, Prestwich

Was an excellent pub with excellent holts bitter and mild both on handpump, now looks like that may change as beer last time it was visited was mediocre and is under new management, looks like barred people are coming back in as mens toilets were vandalized. New management may just need time to settle in and re bar idiots and sort beer quality out, I don't know.

The City, Manchester

Been in a few times, beer in excellent condition and young lady behind the bar very friendly and always pleased to see us old ale 'eads. Give it a try.

Star Inn, Salford

I dropped me dad and boyfriend off there a few Fridays after they re-opened and they enjoyed themselves and my boyfriend got a little tour (as he is nosy) and said it's looking good, excellent ale too as you would expect from Bazens. My turn without the car next on a Saturday night! No. 98 from Mcr stops near Bazens brewery. I will rate it for my old man and better half as they are technophobic.

The Queens Arms, Manchester

Open again and real ale on, Jim from Smithfield so I'm told, will check out.

The Black Lion Hotel, Salford

Tim took me mate round the pub, looking great apparently, think the shutters are down now, and I think it's opening same time as Bolton beer fest.

The Beer House, Manchester

Just been told that after Rob left for the Mark Addy, it is now open again as a proper pub, will have to check out Saturday after Crown & Kettle.

The Black Lion Hotel, Salford

Opening on the 23rd of September apparently.

The Church Inn, Salford

Last time I went in they had only keg and lager and refused to serve real ale as 'those who serve real ale don't clean their lines out'. I voted by walking out....this is before the New Oxford appeared on the scene and we didn't have much of a pub crawl on Chapel St.

The Castle Hotel, Manchester

The Jolly Angler, Manchester

Was Ray in a bad mood Smasher 123? He has a very dry sense of humour (no doubt I'll get my bum kicked now!) Never had trouble ourselves and a lot of people we know love it too. Ne'er mind, must have caught it on a bad day eh.

The Britannia Inn, Farnworth

Does smashing beer fests too!

The Angel, Manchester

Went in when it first reopened and was pleased that it was not turned into a trendy gastro pub. The staff are friendly and the beer in excellent condition with ever changing beers, pump clips of past beers being put above the bar. The old crowd are popping in as well as new, so a good mix of people. Well worth a visit.

Fairport79, it's a Hydes pub! I'm gonna tell Gordon on you. ;P

The Jolly Angler, Manchester

Er....I meant naive as Ray pointed out to me last time I went in!

The Jolly Angler, Manchester

I especially love Ray's niave charm and the Angler is now the home to Man City fans too, which is great to wind Ray up with. ;)

The New Oxford, Salford

They had their first beer festival this weekend (25/11/06) and they were shocked and pleased with the turnout, the beer was in excellent condition (as always) and there was a decent range of foreign beers too. Always a pleasure to go in as it's not a stuck up bar and you are treated like friends popping in for a pint.
