The Railway, West Hampstead

Went there last night and was very impressed. Very pleasant layout, good seating, fine beer and it was like old times. Just like a proper pub should be!

Actually found a seat this time. The ESB was in excellent condition as it usually is here. No sign of the dreaded Thai food cluttering the place up. Even some of the old timers were hanging out in their permanent seats. There is a sign of the soul returning to this once classic pub!

The Mad Bishop and Bear, Paddington

The Fullers ESB was again totally flat and when I checked my change I was 1 short. This pub never seems to learn and its time to move on from its hit and miss service.

They now have the Fullers master cellarman certificate - the ESB now in excellent order - well done.

Ye Olde Swiss Cottage, Swiss Cottage

4.25 for a pint of premier lager - someone is having a laff - and it used to be cheap - no longer, yes, no longer!

The Old Swan, Notting Hill

Ok, not the most exciting pub in west london. But you can usually get a nice seat, the service is prompt and the lager is well kept. You are well away from the screaming masses and the pushy elbows and not a trendy in sight. Bit of a find really.

I agree with last comment - far too much action in a small space. You can never get a seat, frantic calling to get served, most of the old timers have fled and a great old pub has stressed itself out.

The Chippenham, Maida Hill

Nice selection of music last saturday - not a great crowd but top marks to the guitar player.

They keep messing around with the ESB - it was awful before and then it got better. Tonight it was flat and dire and served in the wrong glass with no apology. Some one has to get a grip here.

excellent pub but keep it a secret from the maddening crowd - and the fullers esb is very good now.

pubs are made up of people and Amy was a person - probably better known than mikeyr1234.

Amy Winehouse - rest in peace.

generally a good pub but can be let down badly by the condition of the fullers esb - it can be atrocious!

The Old Bell, Kilburn

This pub is really improving now - great ambience and the beer is good - I like the friendly staff!

This place is no longer a real pub just a halting site for the wanderers and searchers looking for a meal fix. Its lost its soul, you wait forever to get served and it goes to prove that when you try to pack too much in you achieve very little in the end.
Good memories of the old days there!

The Warrington Hotel, Maida Vale

Great to see the Warrington open again but there seems to have been a lot of work done for pretty much the same pub allowing that there is now a decent restaurant upstairs. The curious are pouring in and I regret that the Fullers ESB has now gone and the beers on offer are a small stage above water. The new staff were faffing about especially with the computer tills and it took me ages to get served. And the uni toilets - not keen on these. Some of the ease and glamour of the old Warrington has gone but at least its still there in fancy dress mode.

The Old Bell, Kilburn

This place has a personality but I do find it a bit intimidating. Some of the customers come from the harder part of life but if you like a little thrill or tremor for a change give it a whirl.

Great pub with great beer and the atmosphere is top class. I like the staff and customers and it has a very good ambience. A bit dodgy when the football supporters take over with their raucous chants. One complaint - the furniture is either wobly or falling to bits, needs to be tidied up.

The Elgin, Maida Vale

Waiting for the Warrington to reopen - this place is a dive and lacking any soul and not helped by these awful cube seats.
