The Nelson Arms, South Wimbledon/Colliers Wood

Really enjoyed open mic night on Thursday, first visit. Nice friendly pub with a good mixed crowd.

The Landor, Clapham

ewew - are you sure we're talking about the same pub here?!!
A great little pub with no less than three pool tables which gives us beginners a chance to enjoy a few games without a pub full of people gazing on our embarrassing mishaps! Although the pillars make some shots a bit of a challenge...
Have always found the bar staff and other customers friendly and a good mixed bunch - oh, and the food is great too (potato wedges & garlic mayo - yummy - great for lining the tum at the beginning of the night).

The Wheatsheaf, Vauxhall

Definitely a locals pub, but friendly with it. Great pool table with lots of space.

The Stage Door, Waterloo

Friendly bar staff. Place was packed on a Weds eve for a big cricket match (don't get that!) but they were very accommodating, turning the music up at quiet times during the game and the TV volume up at vital moments! Good few games of pool, which required some gymnastics as the table is tucked away at the back of the pub in a tight space. Good gin & tonic (my measure of a decent pub!). Generally friendly atmosphere and good fun.

The White Lion, Streatham

Didn't stay too long as the football was on and we were on a mission to play pool. The screen is directly above the pool table so kind of discourages you from playing while a game is on as you kind of feel like you're getting in the way.
