The Palladium, Llandudno

I was taken by this place from the outside and even more so on the inside, one of the nicest buildings I've had the pleasure of visiting. I loved the fact that a lot of the seating had been kept facing where the stage once was. The toilets are above the stage area with the spotlights on them, upon leaving the toilet you get a feeling of what it must have been like up on the stage. The 'royal' boxes have cardboard cut outs of gentry in them, its well worth a visit.

Only downside was quite an important one! I tried 2 real ales which werent much to write home about at all.

The Kings Head, Llandudno

Quality pub this, I went in on Thursday afternoon and had a couple of the Great Orme brewerys 'Merlyn', was very nice. The pub is decked out in dark wood and has lots of nooks and crannies, if I lived here I'd visit often.

Wardwick Tavern, Derby

Not happy with the 'Wick. Have visited twice in recent weeks and it seems a case of a previously good pub gone downhill in pursuit of a quick buck. No real ales, poorly kept keg beers (Carling, Fosters etc) and a general feeling that the place needs a bit of care from a proper pub custodian rather than trying to make cash trading on past reputation when the pub was ran well by enthusiastic and skillful landlords..

They have Italian 'SKY' tv which hardly works and has no commentary so there goes an end to the busy nights for big sporting occasions.

Sad demise

Bar One, Derby

Refurbished 2 years ago with a lot of the old pubs features still intact, the chaps who run this are keen, friendly and really making a good go of it.

London Pride and lagers on tap, Darts, Pool and regular entertainment on the stage outside to the back of the pub, BarOne always has something going on and deserves to be supported.

A younger pub, you may not feel totally comfortable outside of the 18-35 age group but its definitely not a kids pub.

Give it a try and you will be surprised.

The Flowerpot, Derby

Disagree with the negative comment by AllHailtheAle, I'm not a regular as such but always feel welcome and fully enjoy every beer I try. The place is cosy and nicely busy during evenings but big enough to still find a seat.

You can't go wrong with the 'Pot.

The Argosy, Derby

Average pub, but used to have a great Tuesday quiz compered by the Mancunian chef who got everybody involved and made it fun for all.
However, its now stumbled through by a little lad who can't really read the questions and as the personality of a cold chip, we stopped going for this reason and went back a few weeks ago to see how things were and the place was empty, very sad considering how it used to be less than 6 months ago.

Ye Olde Spa Inne, Derby

Very cosy, especially in Winter. Good Pedigree, Bass, Timothy Taylor Landlord and occasional guest ale. Genial, friendly place with regulars at bar or ample seating for a quiet drink. Friendly landlord and lady and staff, I would recommend.

The Alexandra Hotel, Derby

For wheatbeer lovers this place has Leffe on tap, delicious

The Rowditch Inn, Derby

A fantastic pub, good mix of young and old (although mainly old), it feels like sitting in a pub circa 1988 when all sections of society went to the pub and I mean that in a positive way.

Excellent Pedigree and weekly changing guest beers, a 'proper' pub
