Mannings, Ipswich

Was encouraged by Northern Monkeys latest review to give this pub another chance.
Unfortunately, my colleagues and I found this to be as poor as it was on our last visit before Christmas 07.
The atmosphere is awful, the bar staff are nothing other than rude and inept, the beer is still over-priced and poorly kept.
Unless you are desperate or a buffoon, I would recommend that you stay well clear of this poorly managed establishment.

The Freston Boot, Freston

Lovely place. Good beer, good food, v friendly helpful staff. Pleasant to sit out in the garden, or sit in the bar or the restaurant. If this was nearer a town it would be packed, but that is apart of its charm and it probably has one of the best bar ladies you could meet.

The Cricketers, Ipswich

Awful service, lousy beer, cheap food. Sums up most Wetherspoons pubs and this is no exception. Poor

The Maybush Inn, Waldringfield

Lovely location on the bank of the River Deben. Unfortunately it suffers from that in the summer by being too popular. A great place to visit in the Spring & Autumn. Good beer. Good food. Pleasant staff.

The Cock and Pye, Ipswich

Changed out of all recognition in the last few years. Just not my sort of place anymore. No doubt it will do weel with its new clientele, but not me.

The Plough, Ipswich

This place should and could be a cracker, but for some reason it fails to achieve its potential. Good location, good beer, good interior - But.....

The Swan Inn, Ipswich

What a dive. Horrible. Lousy choice of beer. Unfriendly staff. The sort of place you could spend 1,000s of pounds in and still be treated like rubbish. A total waste as it has a great location. Avoid.

The Lord Nelson, Ipswich

A lovely old fashioned pub with a superb welcome and a great feel, between the Town centre and the docks - sorry, marina :-)
Beer kept as well as anywhere. Be you a regular or a newcomer you are looked after superbly.
Believe the food is good too.
Recommended highly

The Beagle, Ipswich

A great place to eat & drink. It is more food than pub these days, but still worth a trip just for a drink. It seems to have changed hands may times over the past 15yrs, but still retains the charm of an old world pub, without clashing with 21c needs. Currently, the staff are as good and more professional than ever. The beer is still great and the menu is excellent. Recommended

The Fat Cat, Ipswich

Just about the perfect pub. Character, charm, welcoming, great great beer, decent prices, brilliant staff. What better way to spend a few hours in the wonderful atmosphere that is offered here. Brilliant & totally recommended.
