Prices have jumped. The new management started at £2.60, then £2.80 and today £3.20
Was this because of the rugby?

New management, new menu. Started out with four real ales on the hand pumps, but recently there may be just one real ale. The price seems to be 2.60 for any real ale. Lots of screen for sport, with music on from time to time (jazz, blues and dj sessions). Staff are fine, sometimes over staffed when I go in early evening. Not tried the food yet.

Under new management. I have sampled "Essex Pale Ale" several time. Excellent.

Jolly Butchers, Stoke Newington
A great choice of ale and cider. And European beer too! More research required.

I enjoyed my pint of Ringwood Best Bitter, but at 3.35 I will probably wait a while before I return. The beer was in reasonable condition, and Sharp's Doombar was also available, with Fuller's London Pride and one other real ale. Strangely, with snow on the ground, there was nobody outside in the beer garden. Pubs have changed a little since Dickens' time. Looks like the pub is open every day of the year.

Still shut. Grade II listed so will not be demolished. Rumours of application for change of use.

The Old Duke Of Cambridge, Mile End
I used to visit this pub for the real ale, but they have stopped real ale. Also, many of the regulars seem to have gone... shame.

The Old Dispensary, Whitechapel
Don't go there on Saturday or Sunday, when this pub is closed!

The King Edward VII, Stratford
I was amazed to see two or three drunk people being served at the bar, where they remained. I was even more amazed when the three of them almost won the pub quiz!

The Old Duke Of Cambridge, Mile End
Always a good atmosphere. A small pub, which has benefited beyond belief from the smoking ban.

I have been back to the Flask for the first time in about 30 years. It was empty. The Elgood's "Thin Ice" was OK. Marj had the Leffe which was not at its best.
This pub has great character, and a smell of damp.
I intend to go back. They offer "top ups" on pints with too much head, but I am not sure I understood why from the explanation given by the staff (manager?)

Beer was fine, but I was in there on a Saturday night and I was on my own (just past nine). And I mean on my own. The staff had popped outside for a smoke break.
TV screen had the snooker on, and it dominates this single bar pub.

The Royal Standard, North Woolwich
Now called "Cundy's". Cannot see a reason to enter the place...

We spent a very pleasant time on the small back room (the snug) with some reasonable ales. Friendly-ish local full of locals on a Friday night.

Yes, 3.50 for Adnams Regatta.
Plus last orders and time called about 5 minutes early (at 11pm, Friday night).
Plus the downstairs bar closed "for cleaning" before closing time, and people with cloths and cleaning agents around the place at 11pm!

Mar I Terra is the name of this "pub". It appears to be being refurbished...

This is a great pub. The decision open "non smoking" is something I applaud personally. New legislation will mean that all pubs will non smoking, so why not start off with that policy in place.
The beers are great. The pub has a wireless network with open access (currently) and keeps its website up to date with a direct link from the cash till!
We have enjoyed everything, from well kept real ale through to real cider and bottled German and other European beers.
Ambience? Well, the pub was rebuilt from a burn out shell, and we assume permission was not granted for a music licence owing to the flats above.
Personally, I like good beer and smoke free atmosphere in which to enjoy it!

The White Hart, Whitechapel
This pub has a microbrewery in the basement. Best Bitter for £3.20 as are all the ales brewed on the premises. IPA, and others, available as keg or from the hand pub.
