The Yew Tree, Arlington

Have to agree with the other comments about the surly barman ...someone buy him a personality or send him on a customer care course. Food ok but bit over priced for a pub menu.

The Wheatsheaf, Virginia Water

Attened on A busy Saturday night. Got last empty small table by the Gents, which you can smell each time the door opens.
Leffe on draught was a pleasant surprise.
Food order taken quite quickly but seemed to take a while to come, but the dessert order took even longer so much so given a comp coffee as way of saying so sorry after asking its whereabouts. Then the member of staff that took our order went home making it in possible to pay the bill, thought about just walking out.
Kid of a manager didnt seem in control and couldnt understand that his problems should not become mine.If you cant stand thr heat keep out of the kitchen.............oh he did

The Catherine Wheel, Henley-On-Thames

Visited on A Monday lunchtime.
Nice large pub and plenty of space to get away from the usual Wetherspoon undesirables.
Weird set up with the bars as real ales only seem available from one of them and having traipsed to the other bar in search of Abbot Ale found it wasnt on :-(
Ordered food arrived fairly quickly and all seemed ok although due to the very dim lighting was hard to tell. Think this is partly due to it trying to be a nightclub in the evenings obviously dimmer switches havent made it to Henley yet.

The Pennsylvanian, Rickmansworth

An ok pub visited On a Tuesday night for there Grill Club food all ok and Guinness kept well. Pub wasnt too busy and had a varried age group of customers.
Good to see a working manager clearing tables and serving (Watford Moon take note)
Only criticism is that they encourage you to order the dessert when you place the main meal order and in fact you save money by doing so...trouble is they forget to bring you the dessert and you still end up going to the bar to jog their memory.
Aprt from that all in not too bad and would visit again if in the area.

The Moon Under Water, Watford

For a town where Wetherspoons have their Head Office this pub is an insult to a company that normally run good establishments.
Doesn't it ever get visited by their senior management?
The other comments mentioning it being "dirt cheap" sound read just dirty.
Its hard to find a decent unmarked table let alone a clean one.
Staff seem more interested in feeding their own faces than catering for their customers. Unkempt bar and food serving staff who look like they have forgotten the basic prinicpals in hygiene.
If this was the only Wetherspoons you have ever been to dont let it put you off . There are better ones all over the UK just sad that this one is so rank.
Whoever is meant to be managing this pub start doing what you get paid for and Manage!

The White Hart, Lower Horsebridge

Two years after my first visit.
Still friendly staff and a cracking pint of Harveys.
In these difficult times for local pubs this is one that is deffinately worth a visit and your support.

Bulls Head, Boreham Street

Visted here on a Lunchtime.
Pub has new owners think they are still finding their feet.
Ordered food but most wasnt available even though shown on the menu.
Avoid all costs the mashed potatoe as they forget to mash it.
Wont be back in a hurry unless it vastly improves

The Punch And Judy, Covent Garden

Bald headed barman/manager is so miserable he is totally in the wrong profession.
Place is a dump whoever owns this establishment hope you read this and do all you can to improve it even if that takes sacking the manager

The Pennsylvanian, Rickmansworth

Thought we would try this pub out as one of the first round here to be smoke free. Usual drinks and food offers. We decided to eat and had to rethink our choices twice as out of quite a few main items off the menu.Poor girlfriend had to have chips as no jacket potatoes bless her. Not good being as it was a quiet Monday afternoon.Food arrived nice and hot although a few more chips wouldnt of gone a miss on the mixed grill all in all food was good and cheap for what we did receive.Bar area was clean didnt check out the loo's so can't comment on them Will use again if back in Ricky.

The Earl Of Burlington, Eastbourne

Visited on a Wednesday lunchtime, wasnt that busy but service was slow at the bar. Ordered food and had to reorder as had ran out of jacket pots? WHat we did order arrived after quite a wait, wasnt that hot and others seemed to be sending their food back to the kitchen.Tables werent cleared after people left.Felt bit sorry for the staff as they were taking the flack, manager seemed to be like a headless chicken and didnt have a grip on what was happening.
Will try again only to see if its improved.

The White Hart, Lower Horsebridge

Visted this pub mid evening on a Sunday night, arrived after the advertised time for food but asked and they seemed happy to serve us. Nearly sold out of all the roasts so shows how good they must be. I had the scampi and chips and you would of struggled to get more on the plate.Cracking pint of the local best bitter( Harveys) so good had to have another not bad price when all considered. Staff seem very friendly considering it was our first visit. Well worth the trip and will be calling in again.
