The Eagle and Child, Forest Gate

This pub is now demolished.

The Green Man, East Ham

Must be the worst pub in the area, and thats saying something.

The Boleyn Tavern, Upton Park

Nice local pub,bit large but has a nice snug, very rare these days.

The Hammers, East Ham

I fully concur with icedragon.

The Goose on the Broadway, Stratford

The best of the cheap price pubs in the area.Comfortable seating, clean and nicely decorated, toilets excellent.Staff are a bit slow but at their prices this can be forgiven.

Hudson Bay, Forest Gate

Sadly things are not well at the Hudson.A lot of the regulars have decamped to the Goose at Stratford. The level of service, not very high to start with, has dropped alarmingly with some staff being actively rude and others, especially Miss Piggy, going out of their way to be unhelpful.
They have replaced most of the seats with cheap new ones which turn your bum numb after about 30 minutes, perhaps this is to facilitate a quick turnover in customers,in which case it is a definite success.Avoid.

The Live and Let Live, Forest Gate

Nice little pub, inside reminds you of a front room from the sixties.Prices are too high for this area, but if you fancy a discreet pint away from the rabble this is the place.Friendly old style Guvnor, rare in this neck of the woods.

The Eagle and Child, Forest Gate

Service tends to be a little slow, which is not unusual as the pub has been closed for about a year!

The Barking Dog, Barking

Does Tim Martin ever visit this place?
Must be in line for worst pub in the chain.
A disgrace to the JDW chain, even the low prices don't make it worth a visit-surely the last chance saloon.

Millers Well, East Ham

Typical JDW outlet,low prices,poor service,filthy tables,ashtrays overflowing,cramped dirty toilets.
Avoid like the plague on West Ham matchdays.
It is rumoured there is a manager, but no-one has ever seen him to my knowledge.
Shame,as there are some real characters-check out Grumpy George,Bilge and Sausage Fingers Ron.

The Goldengrove, Stratford

Not bad for a JDW outlet=but cliquey atmosphere, usual problem with staff ''have a nice day'' type of service.

The Fox at Stratford, Stratford

The cheapest prices around.Newly decorated and comfortable, lovely toilets.Reasonable mix of clientle, discreet background music.Only bad point-dreadfully slow and disinterested bar staff-they give the impression they're doing community service-they should employ some East Europeans,at least they want the jobs.

Hudson Bay, Forest Gate

A typical Wetherspoon pub at the lower end of the market.Beer is generally good, with the exception of the San Miguel which is so frothy they throw away 2 pints to get 1,now they get annoyed if you ask for it-shame it'a great pint.
The day trade consists of dossers, retired and the workshy-normal for Wetherspoons, but friendly enough-evenings,forget it.
The staff are the usual mix of incompetents and disinterested, apart from Moyna who is a gem,and David, the deputy manager, who is a dear,if you get my drift.
Prices are the lowest in the area, and although it's looking a little tired decoratively you could do worse than give it a visit.
