The Woolpack Inn, Beckington

Damn good roast. Haven't tried the other food but I can recommend that. We drive over from Bath every Sunday especially. Also Aspells on tap which is a definite plus!

The Hare and Hounds, Bath

Awful, awful food but a lovely view. Beer selection standard, but it does have one of the nicest beergardens in Bath. Just don't eat there!

The Chequers, Bath

This is a funny place. Find it a bit hit and miss. Food is good, atmosphere usually good but the staff can either be polite and friendly or not give a monkeys ass about serving you until they've finished chatting (to the point it's worth complaining)... Maybe I'm not one of the beautiful people and don't deserve their attention?! That said I do on the whole like it there and it's dog friendly which seems to becoming rarer and rarer. There's also a nice little fire on the go on chilly days.

The Bath Tap, Bath

May be a little rough around the edges, but what proper pub isn't? Very welcoming regardless of if you're gay or straight. Plus they have a pub duck known as Harpic!

The Marlborough Tavern, Bath

Great pub and not too Gastroy. Friendly staff, good selection of beers and ciders, great food (worth paying that little bit extra), lovely garden and dog friendly. Check it out!

St James Wine Vaults, Bath

By far my favourite pub in Bath. Super friendly, everyone knows each other but still welcomes a newby. The beer and cider collection is good, as well as the wines. There is a gallery room upstairs (where you can order a takeaway) with exhibits of local artists plus music and poetry. There is also a cellar bar that puts on great live music including Baths best bands. Go check it out! Interesting crowd and a great atmosphere!
