The Cleave, Lustleigh

Stayed in Lustleigh for a holiday in July and visited this pub on 2 occassions - the food was good and also the beer - a good pub in a lovely Devon village - the cricket field is next to the pub so if you are lucky you may get the chance to see a local game on a Sunday afternoon.

Masons Arms, Branscombe

This is a great pub - have been to it on many occassions over past 5 years and never disappointed - food is great and on a sunny day there is no better place in Devon to eat outside. Fantastic !!

The Peter Tavy Inn, Peter Tavy

Have been to this pub a number of times over the past 4 years and always found it to be excellent - never have I experienced anything other than great food and good service. Have travelled from North East for hoilday and always make a point of stopping at the Peter Tavy.

The Magnesia Bank, North Shields

This used to be the best pub in the North East it had everything - good food, great music and beer with staff who cared about customers. Since the previuos owners moved on last year and S and N took over it has gone rapidly downhill with the music the only good thing about the place. The first manager Sand N put in was a disaster and the guy at the moment is at least making an effort but he has 2 pubs to manage. The food is so bad that the restaurant has virtually shut down. Urgently in need of new tenants and a good chef.

Battlesteads Hotel, Wark

This is an excellent hotel / restaurant with lunchtime and evening specials which are great value. The food is of a great standard and the staff, including the owners are very friendly and certainly not pompous !!! The owners and chef come from the Magnesia Bank which they made into arguably the best pub in the North East for food music and beer -they are now doing the same to the Battlesteads. Well worth a visit
