Royal Oak Inn, Staffhurst Wood

Decided to check out this pub as it appears in the Good Beer Guide, lots of selection of ale but the pub its mainly focused on food, we decided to try the food which was good but a little on the pricey side of things.

On a good day the views from the back of the pub are great, its well worth a visit if your in the area and can find the pub as its a bit out of the way.

The Diamond, Hurst Green

Went in the Diamond last week, nice old village pub good selection of beer and there is a fairly large area for eating. The night we went in they had morris dancing on which added to the charm of the place.

Everybody seems friendly and welcoming so its well worth a visit if your in the area.

The Red Barn, Lingfield

Been in the Red Barn a couple of times now as it has a nice feel to it but the food is very hit and miss, we order Fish and chips and steak which was very good but the pie of the day was very average it tasted like a cheap mass produced job.

The Bell Inn, Godstone

Perhaps they were having a bad day! Been in the bell a few times and been happy with the food but on Thursday 22.07 had two plates of very average food. There is a new head chef but the menu is the same which is odd as I would have thought he would have wanted to freshen up the menu. We ordered the Tuna steak which was on the specials menu which was so over cooked it was tough and the spit chicken had been cooked until dry with a sauce which would have been better on a toffee menu, we did mention it to the manager so here's hoping that things will improve before the decline is terminal.

The Wiremill, Lingfield

Good pub in a great location prefect on summers days as the rear deck overlooks a lake where they sometimes do water skiing.

Good selection of beer, have eaten there in the past and the meal was ok the service sometimes lets the pub down. The owners clearly have done a lot of marketing work to establish the pub as a place to visit.

The William IV, Bletchingley

A good country pub a bit of the beaten track, parking isn't great if the pub is busy. Been in the pub 3 times over the last 2 months, the food has always been good, its not Michelin stared but its good wholesome food, the atmosphere has always been good and the staff and landlord are always welcoming.

The Bell Inn, Godstone

Been in the Bell a few times, as its a nice place to eat within a nice setting the pub is just a few yards from Godstone pond. The food has always ben very good, the bar area is small so its more a restaurant than a traditional pub but well worth a visit.

The Fox And Hounds, South Godstone

Nice pub in a quiet location, well worth a visit.

Its a very traditonal pub must date back sevral hundred years, the staff and locals are friendly and as a extra bonus the food is well worth having all be it a little of the expensive side.

The Lagham, South Godstone

The Lagham is now essentially a Indian restaurant, with a small bar, having said that the restaurant is well worth a visit if your in the area but there are better pubs in the area if you just want a drink.
