in answer to johns comment, we are glad you liked the selection. we actually sell 2 extra nines of ale since we stopped selling pride, youngs etc. in fact it is because we don't have a house ale that we actually get through the ales we have. we go down to 4 during the week and stpe it up to 6 at the weekend. haven't come across requests for lager instead as yet.we have tasting notes for all the beers on offer.

really great pub, good real ale and the music bar is a sound idea. this type of place should be encoraged. but and its a big but.... allowing your kitchen staff to sell illegal dvd's is not cool. this money goes to seroius criminals or worse terror groups. think im exaggerating.. ask the old bill. i love this place but that should stop !

to buffy...yes dave the chef still comes in, chris the owner does the quiz ( over 80 people 3 times this year),julia (the german) went back to germany in 2003, the dentist and moose are loved up and go to the hill in belsize, buffy the cat is still around. chris the owner married fiona in september. place is doing well but like most hampstead pubs has had a slower year than last.

The Bald Faced Stag, East Finchley
they have done a nice job here and had a couple on interesting ales on....however
i went in on a sunday at 12.45 and having bought a beer thought i would have lunch. i was told that i couldn't order for 20 mins as they had two big tables in. after 20 mins it was another 10. this is crazy. it wasn't heaving and they should be able to cope on a rainy day in september. come on chaps you are letting your owners down !
