The Nevill Crest and Gun, Eridge Green

Not a great pub to be honest
Is a little unfriendly beer not too good
Is a Brunning & Price pub its sister pub the Hare is superior.

18 Jun 2012 20:31

The Crystal Palace, Tunbridge Wells

Its a little like that bar in Star Wars I'm not saying any more than that

18 Jun 2012 20:26

TN4, Tunbridge Wells

Not a huge fan it has a late licence and thats about it

18 Jun 2012 20:24

Sankey's, Tunbridge Wells

Best pub/bar in Tunbridge Wells good beer, friendly staff only slight downside is it gets the odd idiot in which of course can't be helped

18 Jun 2012 20:23

The Sussex Arms, Tunbridge Wells

A bit tatty to be honest beer isn't in my humble opinion great better pubs/bars in Tunbridge Wells

18 Jun 2012 20:16

Bread and Roses, Clapham

Went i here recently for the first time in 2 years much improved beer wise and I think price wise but ut still has a bit of a w*nky clientele but it is ten times better than the stonehouse

4 Apr 2007 20:45

The Priory Arms, Stockwell

I personally do like the priory ive locked horns with tdk before but I have to say that the priory is one of the better pubs in the area it is definitely not unbeatable as the one of the previous comments has stated there are much better pubs in London

19 Mar 2007 13:54

The Stonhouse, Clapham

I said exactly the same thing and had my comment took off its not a bad pub but its not the garden of babylon that several reviews have claimed all who have commented on this pub only

12 Jan 2007 22:24

Circle Bar, Clapham North

My gripe with this place continues came here last night with my missus ordered what I wanted !reply. weve run out! my next request!reply we've run out!
Got down to what have you got bottle wise?( the draught you will recall from my previous posts isnt great here)reply. Peroni or Corona! after very grudgingly odering the latter I dont think either are that good but thats what was left I then tried to order a glass of white wine for the woman in my life reply. we have no white wine tonight! to add insult to injury the incompitent bar person seemed to think this was amusing!I left before I strangled this extremely irritating person who wont be smirking when they dont have a job because people dont use the place and it shuts down I hold my hands up I was stupid enough to keep coming here not any more though and I give this place a big fat 0/10

9 Jan 2007 07:54

Circle Bar, Clapham North

Just as I praised this place for improving it goes and lets itself down I was in here yesterday with a friend it was fairly quiet there was about 10 people in there understanderble being in between chrimbo and new year to be honest but in 3 hours of drinking we had 5 drinks and did not have our table cleared by one of the 2 extermely clueless and miserable bar staff who were on duty at a busy pub you can just about grudgingly understand this but without trying to sound like a up my own ar*e git I really think thats unacceptable it does have potenial if they sort the staff out and get some more interesting beers in

29 Dec 2006 11:36

The George, Balham

Not the worst pub Ive been to in the area but it was very quiet I dont know why but it has got a slightly pretenious feel

20 Dec 2006 15:26

O'Donoghues, Shepherds Bush

I still find it strange that you are so passionate about one pub and a pub to be honest isnt really that good there are several pubs that are much better if you are unfortunate enough to find yourself in the bush yes the local are friendly in 'o' Donoghues but the pub itself is really nothing to shout about to be honest mate Im still just as sceptical but if this is what rocks your boat best of luck to you

20 Dec 2006 12:30

The Stonhouse, Clapham

Went here last night to see if I my sceptism was correct it was packed with drinkers and diners nicely laid out bar but the 2 guys behind the bar were clueless I have to admit it though it looks like it is going to be a sucess but it very much aimed at the infamous clapham locals

17 Dec 2006 10:49

O'Donoghues, Shepherds Bush

As has the comment below my previous one

16 Dec 2006 14:59

O'Donoghues, Shepherds Bush

The only thing that leaves me sceptical about you boydevil is the only pub that you have commented on is this one that to be brutally honest points to some connection with the place eg you work here or are pals with the manager etc Ive said myself that the locals deserve better than what they were getting but you leave yourself wide open for sniping from people by just the fact that the only pub youve commented on your BITE is this one

16 Dec 2006 14:58

The Mark Cross Inn, Mark Cross

I dont usually praise pub companies individually but in my opinion (for what its worth) I havent been unimpressed in any of the the Chaser group pubs Ive been to, the chaser, the mill,or this one! they are always busy so to be honest whoever they are aiming it at, it works! on the subject of paying 2.90 for a pint tell me any where decent that isnt charging within those price margins

16 Dec 2006 14:46

The Two Brewers, Clapham

una events manager for two brewers Im thinking

13 Dec 2006 18:58

The Hare, Langton Green

I am a massive fan of this place but Ive just realised that Im getting married because of the Hare so Im wondering whether I should take a point off?

13 Dec 2006 17:36

Sankey's, Tunbridge Wells

Probably the best bar in TW

13 Dec 2006 17:20

The Sound Garden / Biscuit Factory, Tunbridge Wells

Nothing special a very ordinary pub nothing going for it but saying that better than pitcher and piano not that is difficult

13 Dec 2006 17:14

The Rose and Crown, Clapham

Im afraid I have to agree in the fact it has gone downhill recently however it is still ten times better than the Calf or the Sun not that it is too difficult to be.

13 Dec 2006 12:16

The Priory Arms, Stockwell

Im in about the same as you I wonder though how well the cellar is looked after when just the girls are left in charge I dont mean that in a sexist way but the owner seems to know what hes doing but the manager I must admit seems to be absent alot of the time I do though still think that its a cracking pub hence I get in there whenever I can I havent experienced the same issues with you.
But I dont really feel that the television interferes with the atmosphere of the place but each to their own I guess.

12 Dec 2006 18:25

Circle Bar, Clapham North

Has improved slightly in since I last came in just needs some decent beers and it would be on of the better pubs/bars in the area

12 Dec 2006 10:52

The Priory Arms, Stockwell

I have to disagree very strongly about that! The Priory is still one of the best pubs in the area by a mile the beer service is top class! I dont really understand why a television is getting your goat up so much but I do agree that the place needs a lick of paint but that is just a very minor grumble if you want spic and span toddle off to Clapham

12 Dec 2006 10:44

The Coach and Horses, Covent Garden

Came here for the first time last week left impressed but I personally wouldnt go as far the 2 previous have but all the same worth popping into

3 Dec 2006 16:47

The Crown, Covent Garden

To be honest nothing special when you consider some of the other pubs close by the bar staff though make it even unspecial with there attitude

3 Dec 2006 16:41

Cafe Sol Dos, Clapham

The manager has got a really bad attitude in here I had a few beers and something to eat in here and and very politely pointed out that something wasnt right with our meals (a one off I will state) and his couldnt give a sh*t attitude was terrible I had even told him that I wasnt after any discount for this just that it had happened so he'd know for the future it didnt happen to someone more uptight about these type of errors and his "so what do you want me to do about it'' was in my opinion totaaly uneeded I wont bother a ever coming here again and hope that someone more ars*y experiences the problems I did

28 Nov 2006 18:26

Dorset Arms, Sevenoaks

Not that I care in the slightest by the way

24 Nov 2006 17:46

16 Nov 2006 14:46

22 Sep 2006 10:17

The Little Brown Jug, Chiddingstone Causeway

Thechum seems to be a big fan of the chaser people did you ever drink in The Hare? I think one of the chaser people ran it.

11 Sep 2006 10:13

The Belle Vue, Clapham Common

Unfortunately seems to have developed some of the pretenious feel I said it didnt have 6 months ago shame I hope it gets back to its previous standard.

11 Sep 2006 09:55

The Goat, Battersea

Nice selection of belgian beers on draught and bottled, Budvar Dark as well, didnt try the food! they seems to be trying a little too hard with their menu! worth a couple of drinks but I wouldnt spend anymore time than that worth a visit.

11 Sep 2006 09:38

The Hare, Langton Green

Anything half decent in tunbridge wells is more expensive! Id rather pay a bit more here and not have to put up with some of the idiots that frequent Tunbridge wells hence this place is worth coming to and paying slightly more.

7 Sep 2006 17:36

The Windmill on the Common, Clapham Common

Came here for the first time in about 6 months on tuesday for a few beers and something to eat.
My previous visits I would have described the Windmill as a okay pub not the best but by no means the worst in clapham.
Roll on 6 months personally I dont like the refurb but each to their own.
However the staff are AWFUL the food way below average Im not a fan.

1 Sep 2006 10:57

The Garrick Arms, Trafalgar Square

Im really suprised (and disapointed that this happened) I have really sung this pubs praise in the past it shows you that you cant judge a book a by its cover.

10 Aug 2006 22:01

O'Donoghues, Shepherds Bush

My last comment was deleted so I will put a new one on I totally agree with with the comment below the sad thing is this pub has masses of potential if they sort out external and internal maitenence and get a manager/owner who cares about this place enough it could be a gold mine the locals (the majority are a lovely bunch of people) deserve better!!!

14 Jun 2006 12:31

The Goldhawk, Shepherds Bush

Came here for the first time on monday have to say its not the best pub Ive been in but the some of the reviews here are unfair I think it has some very good qualities ecspecially the barmans disgust when some pillock tried to pay for a glass of pommigranite juice with his card

14 Jun 2006 03:08

Fitzroy Tavern, Fitzrovia

11 Jun 2006 22:43

Callaghan's Irish Bar, Piccadilly

For the attention of no mild_walkout_mac Im from Thomastown in Kilkenny Ireland perhaps you can explain to me how on earth my previous comment is racist both Irish friends of mine and family have used this term about bars such as Callaghans or O Neils I didnt mean any offence to anyone Irish or anyone English have a look at one of your previous comments about the Hand of China before you have the audacity to make comments like the one abovexxxx

11 Jun 2006 22:41

6 Jun 2006 11:03

The Old China Hand, Clerkenwell

I have no problem with people pointing out a pub having a problem with cr*p service and having a grevience that a pub doesnt sell mild obviously thats the end of the world! But is there any need for the racist garbage that has come from nomilds review!
Fine you think the old china is a cr*p pub with cr*p service but just leave it at that!
Theres no need for the other rubbish you spouted mate.

23 May 2006 14:26

The Sun, Clapham

I was dragged in here kicking and screaming at the weekend by some people who are meant to be mates its still one of the worst pubs in clapham and I no longer socialise with the awful people who dragged me in there to give it another chance!!!

23 May 2006 13:38

The Fine Line, Clapham

I know this sounds fickle from my previous comment but this bar is actually cr*p sorry went in there stone cold sober and realised its up there with the calf and the sun in being well shite!

23 May 2006 13:33

The Box Bar, Earlsfield

Awful cant think of anything else to say about it

23 May 2006 12:38

Yates's, Leicester Square

Why why why does this awful brand still exsist Laurel should be ashamed of this not that their other brands are much better.

23 May 2006 09:51

Cheers, Regent Street

Im amazed at just how bad this place is service sh*t atmosphere the same I experienced the same problems with a clean glass but alas was stupid enough to opt for a bottle instead should be in the centre of leicester square so no normal drinkers will be tricked into going in there.

23 May 2006 09:46

The Guinea Butt, Tunbridge Wells

I cant really think of anything positive to say about this place they've had short spells when they've had someone who gives a sh*t about the place the present glorious leader does not have that quality Im afraid.

23 May 2006 08:32

The Bedford, Tunbridge Wells

Not one of the better pubs in Tunbridge wells to be honest a certain element get in here and not alot of pride is took in this place to be honest.

23 May 2006 08:27

The Harbour Inn and Restaurant, Bowmore

Thats awful by the sound of it but I think these comments belong on a resturant review not this web site last time I looked its called beerintheevening

22 May 2006 16:33

The Pentagon, Clapham

Friendly staff always has a good atmosphere a little on the expensive side (but it is clapham) but in saying that it is alot better than alot of the bars on clapham high street.

The Spotted Dog, Penshurst

Nice enough pub but there are much better pubs in the area.

17 May 2006 10:37

The Bottle House, Penshurst

One of if not the best pub in the area great food, beer and service the only thing going against it is where it is unless you're from the area it is a difficult place to find apart from that a fantastic pub.

17 May 2006 10:34

So.uk, Clapham

Since it hasnt took me long to realise that there is no happy medium on clapham high street bars/pubs here are either great or sh*t this is the latter very w*nky.

16 May 2006 19:40

The Porcupine, Leicester Square

Realised why the staff look so miserable in here went in a few days ago (early evening)and they had 1 member of staff behind the bar I apologise for my comment about the staff but management need to sort that problem out asap you may not have noticed but you have a pub near leicester square you might get busy!!!!

16 May 2006 16:46

The Walkabout, Covent Garden

I like aussie beers aka VB Tooheys etc but hate this place totally agree with the dragging knuckles comment this saying that I hate the brand as well.

15 May 2006 11:35

The Rose and Crown, Clapham

I was wrong about this place its not one of the best pubs in clapham old town its one of the best pubs in clapham!!! try this place tis a gem of a pub.

15 May 2006 10:00

The Hare, Langton Green

Ive been drinking in the hare for a while and the comments (has taken a dive since Brian left) are a tad unfair its very true to say that yes Brian was and is a great host Im abseloutly positve he will work his magic on his most recent venture the brown jug, Chris the present manager has had a extremely big act to follow and in my opinion has done well the Hare is still one of the top pubs in the area.

13 May 2006 12:22

The Moon Under Water, Leicester Square

10 May 2006 11:04

The Packhorse and Talbot, Chiswick

Not the worst pub in chiswick but seems to be attracting a certain element if they can nip it in the bud it could be a cracking pub

9 May 2006 10:38

The Lamb Brewery, Chiswick

Well where do I start outside untidy staff do not seem to give sh*t and still a certain element of trouble drifting in the place I saw one plate of food sent out and sent back 5 minutes later says it all really.

The Sussex Arms, Tunbridge Wells

Came here for the first time in ages last sunday wasnt a fan ages ago still not

7 May 2006 11:58

The Hole In The Wall, Waterloo

Very good product range but for a busy pub not enough staff on so you can wait quite a while to get served but worth visiting.

23 Apr 2006 20:02

The Sherlock Holmes, Charing Cross

Expensive seems to be catering for the tourists that sometimes swarm the area friendly staff the only positive note I can think of.

23 Apr 2006 19:58

The Ship and Shovell, Charing Cross

One word awful the worst pint ive had in a long time a very rude couldnt give a sh*t girl behind the bar I will not be returning in the forseable future

21 Apr 2006 16:09

Golden Lion, Soho

Went here for the first time tonight I actually didnt think price wise it was to shabby good range pleasant staff nothing special nothing to grumble about though average london boozer

7 Apr 2006 21:49

Circle Bar, Clapham North

I feel Ive got to comment on this place (a)I do appreciate that on a friday a bar/pub is likely to be busy.
(b)That despite drinking in here on a regular basis you dont have exclusive rights to getting served straight away.
(c)That staff will make a mistake with who should be served next.
HOWEVER I dont think that when it is steady that you should wait 15 minutes to be served while one of the managers/owners holds court with his mates on a self appreciation commitee Im not a complete berk I appreciate that sometimes you have to wait to be servred but not in these situations! this place has got to sort out problems like this or they dont stand a hope in hell of competing with the bars on the high street.

7 Apr 2006 21:43

The Fox and Pheasant, Fulham

Nice old fashioned little pub which hasnt aqquired the pretence of alot of the pubs in the fulham/chelsea area!
On the comment of a saturday you will find that the chelsea scumbags the comment below describes are more likely to use the shed bar, just in case you are worried about bumping into these awful working class people!
The last comment is sarcasm.

7 Apr 2006 15:17

The Rose and Crown, Clapham

Cracking little pub friendly staff nice relaxed feel to it the best pub in clapham old town by a mile.

6 Apr 2006 10:02

The Clapham North, Clapham North

I have mixed feelings about this place they bend over backwards to help you with getting a table reserved for a friday night and I think the idea of buying a bottle of vodka or gin etc is differnt (sorry im from kent originally we dont have clever ideas like that where im from)and the food is very good for a pub but I always feel the staff let down the place slightly not a bad watering hole.

6 Apr 2006 09:58

The Falcon, Clapham North

4 Apr 2006 19:36

The Oak Tree, Sevenoaks

Very rightly said below the staff are friendly but the one thing Ive noticed is the Oak Tree seems to be a haven for people barred from the slug and even the sennockian, apart from that it is quite a nice pub.
