The Bricklayers Arms, Brentford

Went in here on Saturday 4/8/07 and found it to be a friendly enought pub. Few regulars in and all seemed very welcoming. Visited because of the Robert Rankin link and was wondering whether anyone in was one of the many colourful charcaters from his books.

The Crooked Surgeon, Leicester Square

Was in on Wednesday 11/4 and found it a very friendly and decent pub until 10.40. Was asked to vacate my seat to go and stand in the cramped bar area so they could wash the tables and put the chairs up. Did not hear a last orders bell and tried to get another beer at 10.50. The barman said nothing but made a slit throat action. Could not believe that a bar in the west end closes at 11.15 and does not sound a last orders bell.

The Hoop and Toy, South Kensington

A great pub with function rooms available upstairs for booking at a price. Does get busy very quickly but empties as quickly as tends to be people popping in on the way back from the museums. Good food, good choice of beers.

Henry J Beans, Chelsea

If it was not for the gorgeous beer garden out the back then this pub would suffer as the bar staff are rude and as previously stated do tend to forget who has been waiting a while and serve the next nearest person. I have complained about this and have on occasion walked out because of it. Food is of a decent quality if you like burgers with frills.

The Sydney Arms, Chelsea

A great pub with friendly people and two pool tables in the upstairs room. Lots of character and during the summer will give you a plastic pint to take into the park next door.

Finch's, Chelsea

Visited on 28/4/05 and found it to be a very nice pub. Thought I'd try a pint of Kronenbourg Blanc. �4.30 !!!!!!!!!!!!! Did not have another. The crowd were friendly and from experience people tend to come here rather than go to the UGC cinema's own bar.
