The Scarborough Arms, Whitechapel

I am delighted to find that the pub has now re-opened under new management and that the bar staff, Sue and Tracy, who are absolute gems, are back.

Unfortunately, the pub had a manager who was not capable of running it and trade had, not surprisingly, dwindled despite the efforts of the staff who had been the mainstays for many years.

I understand that the new governors are a refreshing change and I am sure that the quality of beer and food, which I had enjoyed for some years, will continue

Presumably I am supposed to be one of the multiple names used by one person to rate this pub who has never rated anywhere else, well, now I have!

The Harp, Covent Garden

A little gem near Charing Cross Station, I have been using this pub since 1968 as I consider it on of the best pubs in London.

The beers are kept in excellent condition with three house beers, Harveys Sussex, Black Sheep and Tinothy Taylors Landlord and 3 guest beers which includes, from time to time, one of my favourites, Batemans.

The staff are friendly with a good sense of humour and the O'Hagans sausages are a must have. If you are not a sausage fan then you can bring in food from the local cafes/sandwiches bars.

Pleasant traditional beer drinkers' pub, there is a good range of beers, some of which change on a regular basis and they are always in very good condition. Clearly the Landlord takes a pride in his beer and likes to try out different breweries.

The staff are friendly, have a good sense of humour, and the food is good value with generous helpings.
