Its very clear that a new manager has taken over as the pub has come on leaps and bounds! The menu is honest and delivered to a great standard as well as coming out efficently. I would suggest the doubters that have had a bad experience in the past should revisit as the customer service and quality has improved tremendously. The ales are excellent and in very good nick! there are 4 on and they are black sheep bitter, greene king IPA, Hobgoblin (My favourite) and finally adnams broadside. A good place to go!

To be honest this pub is a dump!! we popped in there late on sat night and went to the loo and found someone sniffing things they shouldnt and his response was "it appens in here all the f***ing time mate". ****A pub to be avoided****

WHILST I APPRECIATE THIS PUP HAD A BAD REP YEARS AGO I CAN ASSURE YOU THIS IS NO LONGER THE CASE!! WE HAD A MEAL THERE AND NOT ONLY WAS GREAT BUT IT WAS AT A GREAT PRICE (SADLY NOT SEEN UNLESS YOU ARE IN WEATHERSPOONS WHICH IS CHEAP AND NASTY!!) WE HAD SOME LOVELY BEERS AND WINES AND THEY ALSO WERE AT A GREAT CHEAP PRICE. I WOULD RECOMEND THIS PUB VERY HIGHLY AS WE MET THE MANAGER AND HE WAS FANTASTIC WITH A GREAT KNOWLEDGE OF THE BEERS AND FOOD HE SELLS. ALOT HAS CHANGED SINCE THOSE DARK DAYS SO PLEASE VISIT AND SEE FOR YOURSELF.

I used to work here and it was a shambles back then but I must say that I had a chuckle this morning seeing one of the two owners Jenny Tooley on the BBC1 programme "The sherifs are coming"!! It appears that she has tried to stitch up another hard working chef who worked their fingers to the bone for this vacuous ignorant and mostly drunk woman. The food was always so good there but all the decent chef's, bar managers, bar staff and team leaders all ended up leaving because the owners were often drunk and unbelievably rude!! Swearing and shouting at each other in full view of paying customers and finally from watching the BBC programme - not paying their staff causing them to go to court!!
Avoid this pub like the plague!
