The Sir Richard Steele, Belsize Park

Really nice decor, lots of character. I like the quotes on the bar. They do thai food that smelled very nice, though we didn't try any.

The Roebuck, Hampstead

Really enjoyed the beer garden, much quieter than the Garden Gate which can be what you're after sometimes. Friendly barstaff.

The Flask, Hampstead

Previous experiences were good, however the last one was pretty horrible. After waiting an hour for two sandwiches and a pie (on a not very busy evening) we enquired if our food was on it's way; "I assume so was the barman's response". A few minutes later we were told they had run out of 1 of the sandwiches. Even though we were completely amazed that this could happen in a restaurant (places run out of food, but they don't wait an hour to tell you!), it's the way the situation was handeled that really put a sour taste in our mouth.

The Defector's Weld, Shepherds Bush

The only thing the place has going for it is that it's open late. Saying the service is horrible and rude is being kind. Ordered a bottle of wine and waited 10mins for it...wouldn't even try pints. The doormen are on a powertrip like you wouldn't beleive. Even by London standards the staff here are appalling. Stay away!!!

The Rose and Crown, Kew

After reading the previous Nov 14th comment I thought we were in for a lovely evening...not the case.
Nice looking pub and I must say that the waiter was good and very polite; unfortunately the positive comments stop here.
It was a very quiet evening so getting drinks should have been quick, however often people would be standing at the bar waiting ages for someone to appear. We made a booking, as we were a large group. When we arrived no table had been reserved and we received no explanation. If you don't do reservation then don't take one. Chips that accompanied the meals were, very obviously, old and had been refried. The crumble was the worst I've ever had; it wasn't cooked! Confusion over a drinks order lead to the barman blatantly lying and blaming us. Definitely wont try the place again, neither should you.
