The Counting House, Bank

Great pub in fantastic surroundings. Serve decent range of beer, including my favourite and quite hard to come by Leffe Blonde. Food is a little more expensive than your average pub food, but then the food is nowhere near average, it is to die for! I thoroughly recommend the liver and bacon - it even comes with mash made from real potatoes, not Smash!! On the downside it can get pretty busy, but service has always been pretty good.

The Cos Bar, London

I like this bar, despite the dodgey decor!! The food there is always good and reasonably priced. They serve a wide range of beer and the manager is friendly. On the downside, it can get very crowded and noisy

The Woodman, Stanford Rivers

Great pub with excellent food and a very novel system of letting you know when your food is ready!! Very popular so can get busy. Lovely, spacious beer garden and a nice play area for kids too. Ample parking spaces.

The Alma Arms, Navestock

This pub is off the beaten track and hard to find, but once you find it, you will be glad you did. The food here is all home cooked and is to die for. I believe it is a family run pub that has been owned by the same family for years. It has a nice conservatory area that has been added onto the back, which is nice to sit in during the summer months. Otherwise this place is your typical, cozy country pub that serves great food and drink.

New Fairlop Oak, Barkingside

This place is a total dive and full of young and not so young people getting pissed up. I believe there is often a fair bit of trouble in there Avoid at all costs!!

Williamson's Tavern, Mansion House

The food in this pub is excellent. Not a very wide range of bottled beers though. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The decor is ok, but rather dingey. But, on the whole it's not a bad pub and me and my colleagues have spent many a happy lunch time in there.

The Banker, Cannon Street

Visited this pub for the first time last week and was very pleasantly surprised. This is the first pub I have ever been in where they serve beer at the table and believe me, I've been in a few!! Didn't sample the food, but it looked and smelt delicious. Fantastic views over the River Thames too. I also liked the fact that they have a decent no smoking area.

The Centre Page, St Pauls

Wasn't very impressed by the decor in this pub. The house white left a lot to be desired too. Other than that, not a bad pub

The Sea Horse, Mansion House

I went to this pub a few years ago and like many other people seem to have experienced, the manager was extremely rude to me. I vowed there and then that I would never go to this pub again and I never have!
