Grove Alehouse, Hazel Grove

This is a little gem of a place, well worth seeking out if you're anywhere near the 192 bus route (or if you happen to be in Hazel Grove, of course). Its compactness makes for a cosy atmosphere and you'll almost certainly stumble upon a brew you've never previously encountered.

I had a pint of Timothy Taylor's Best, which was perfection in a glass.

I meant to give this pub 8/10 (which I will do now) but hit the wrong button by mistake. Whoever's in charge of this site, might want to lay out the buttons a bit better.

A nice unpretentious pub dominated by television screens. Worth a visit if you happen to be in the vicinity.

White Hart, Cheadle

Things have changed mightily since the last tranche of reviews regarding this pub. It has now been gentrified and serves a reasonable range of real ales. It also does food which - if the menu can be believed - is pretty good for pub grub.

I had a bottle of Goose IPA for an eye-watering £4.20. Bearing in mind that it's a craft beer imported from over the Pond, that's not too outrageous a price but it's hardly a bargain. For my mind, it should be going for £3.20 a pop, which is about what I've paid for it before.
