The Pineapple, Brimpton Common
Just been there for Father's day lunch. The Timothy Taylors Landlord was superb, and the food was excellant. I had a sirloin steak (very good) and my daughter had a homemade burger (delicious). The chef was recently appointed, so take advantage of it!

The Fur and Feathers, Herriard
Went to the Fur and Feathers last night and discovered that it had changed hands 11 weeks ago. I am glad that it did. The owners are friendly and welcoming, the beers (HSB and London Pride) were good and the food was excellant and good value. Go there.

Well I for one would not enter if there were no real ale, so how can you judge demand?

If you went into the Bass House and asked for a pint of Bass, they would not know what you were talking about. Glad it has gone.

If you like an old fashioned pub - real ale, real fire, real food, real music (played by a real landlord), then this is the one for you. This pub is in the middle of nowhere and desperately needs your support if it is to survive. I have no connection with the pub, but wish I had.
Try it (but don't take the kids!).

We had Sunday lunch at the Fur and Feathers today and the food was superb. The beer was very good also, but not Fullers.
