The Craft Beer Co, City of London

A truly amazing and overwhelming feeling when first entering this pub and seeing the bar, there cannot be a more impressive bar in the country. As already mentioned it is without doubt the finest range of beer available in the UK.

Fifteen real ales, one real cider and twenty one keg beers and a thick 'bible' for a beer menu of the bottled beers. I thought 3.40 for a pint of ale was very reasonable for this area and especially for beers of this quality. When it comes to the keg and bottled beers its certainly a different matter, however the beers available in most cases have never been in this county before. I think when it comes to specialist beers its tricky subject, its one thing to be over charged for a belgian beer like Chimay or American beer like Sierra Nevada which are common these days, but when we are talking about beers from De Struise, Stillwater or Mikkeller its bit different. When one considers what beers these guys have managed to source, it is reasonable the prices they are charging. It is quite simply a stunning line up of beers, one of the finest you could find in all of Europe.

The pub is beautiful with a very traditional ground floor and wonderful modern first floor lounge perfect to chill out in and i congratulate the guys from CASK in Pimlico on this new venture.

The Gunmakers, Clerkenwell

Very nice small pub which serves four decent ales and has a very nice menu.... Rib eye Steak I had was very good and fairly priced.

CASK Pub and Kitchen, Pimlico

Wrong Photo and Pub...

CASK pub and kitchen recently awarded:

- The Publican Magazine Pub of the Year 2011

- CAMRA West London pub of the Year 2011

Also for reviewers suggesting the emphasis here is on American beers in bottles or kegs, it should be stated they have Ten Hand pumps which are always serving ten different British craft real ales from the best micro breweries in the country... The special beers from America, Denmark and other countries compliment this range of beers, but it is obvious that real ale is the number one priority at this venue. Many of the keg and bottled beers they have are unavailable anywhere else in the UK, however this does not change the fact that Ten real ale hand pumps dominate the bar.

BITE needs a kick up its arse to get this photo issue sorted, wouldnt happen on the other pub rating sites!

The Masons Arms, Battersea

Great food, but then it should be for the prices they charge....

I used to like this place much more going back a while.... it doesnt seem as charming as it once did, but it is still a decent place.

The Lord High Admiral, Pimlico

A quite shocking 'bar'...

This is not a pub, it isnt a nice pleasant place either...

Its a rough place with little to reccomend it.

The Clarence, Balham

Far too noisy for my liking... Has many things going for it, good beers and handsome pub, but something doesnt do it for me. Maybe i am being unfair, but it lacks something, its a bar really, not at all a pub.

The Grove, Balham

Always a pub i visit when in Balham, very comfortable and always a place that lends its self to conversation very easily.

Food pretty standard Youngs offering, but mostly good, it isnt cheap, but where in London that is any good is these days.

I like it it, have many good memories of this place over the years.

The Canton Arms, South Lambeth

Very average, quite a poncy pretentious place and not somewhere i would head to again in a hurry

The Priory Arms, Stockwell

I love this pub, its very warm and friendly with great drinks, great food and great staff.

It is everything a good pub should be...

The Shakespeare, Victoria

Dreadful...

It is without doubt one of the worst pubs in central London.

Everything is bad... i wont even elaborate.

The Prince of Wales, Pimlico

Seen much better days.... starting to attact a rough element.

Committment to real beer poor.

The Jugged Hare, Pimlico

Good ale selection but all fullers.. not in my mind a real quality ales establishment.... lack of choice beyond Fullers... Lacks heart and soul

The Gallery, Pimlico

A place which places absolutely no value what so ever on its customers... treats them like dirt.... but i guess it shows you that sometimes a pub can thrive despite this.... its always busy and will keep treating its customers like dirt while it stays busy.

Unfriendly staff, rude management and very very average drinks

The Elusive Camel, Victoria

Just a really horrible nasty place.... think of a Yates or edwards in a provincial town.... Low grade suite and young yobs all behaving like animals.

Horrible.

23 May 2009 15:51

The Constitution, Pimlico

A pub which is certainly punching above its wait.... it is nothing exceptional at all... staff distinctly average, decor very tired.... drink selection dull.

It really isnt the wonderful tradional pun amongst all the ghastly 'bars' which others have said... way over rated.

The Brass Monkey, Victoria

Was a wonderful mix of most awful pub in central london and brilliant place full of wonderful eccentric people when it was the Lord Burleigh. Now is it a very pleasant Bar, but is not in the least bit special or unique... Lacks heart and soul.
