The Mitre, Glastonbury

I have ticked the "like" button on the last review.....Complete waste of a pub A ?

19 Apr 2012 16:31

The King Arthur, Glastonbury

I like this "exarch" person. Really good, honest and accurate reviews so far. I completely agree with you about the Arthur, the crept back in bit unfortunately really puts one off, but, as you say, what can she do ? For what it's worth, the better customers will almost never trust the place if they even just hear about a hint of the usual crap in there.....
exarch, review the others.....The Mitre, Beckets, etc.....

The Mitre, Glastonbury

The entrance is still clogged with the few regulars and landlady making it the most uninviting pub ever. I would think their turnover must be a good 100 per week !

6 Sep 2011 08:14

The George and Pilgrim, Glastonbury

Grand_Mufti.....Yes, the French duo have gone.....already. GodLover.....The original final arbiter was struck off about a month ago for his years of abuse of 99% of pubs and about 99% of other reviewers. Dr_Pangloss was mysteriously struck of at the same time.

27 May 2011 08:37

The George and Pilgrim, Glastonbury

Re-Grand_Mufti...I think the barmaid you refer to was probably the new landlady. By far, she is the least helpful member of staff, and the most, as you say, "up herself".

The Who'd A Thought It, Glastonbury

What about the gay couple kissing in the John Snow in Soho which were promptly chucked out ? Well, being as straight an ELEVEN bob note, I wouldn't have liked it either and totally agree with the landlady for chucking them out. HOWEVER, I wouldn't like a straight couple kissing in any pub either ! I chose this pub to make this comment for obvious reasons. I must admit I have struggled with a fair bit of homophobia myself, BUT, it turned out one of my really great long term friends is gay ! There is NO WAY I now don't like him anymore. Gay is gay. Most are born gay, and that's that. To hate them, you might just as well hate the whole universe.
Balanced, sane, mature comments anyone ?

21 Apr 2011 09:40

The Mitre, Glastonbury

Ha ha ha.....Maybe if they all converted to pipe smoking and developed an intelligent facial expression ? It would be a lot better than the hunched, coughing, spitting, glaring, door clogging image !
You lot hate us right ? Of course you do, what else could you lot feel ?
How do you think we feel ? We might have liked to come and have a drink there ! You make it absolutely impossible ! Hey, I know, how about putting up a sign that reads, "if you're intelligent, educated, polite, courteous, non smoking, a good conversationalist.....KEEP OUT AND STAY OUT" !

11 Apr 2011 09:04

The Prince Of Wales, Dilton Marsh

A collection of moles !

11 Apr 2011 08:51

The King William Inn, Glastonbury

Still too cold for eejit watching...

31 Mar 2011 09:01

The King William Inn, Glastonbury

I'll join you soon.....I agree with you re- the eejits. I think we'll agree (for once) that the eejits generally don't come from the King William so much as the Backpackers and the monument.....

12 Mar 2011 16:29

The Swan Inn, Thornbury

Pathetic.....Haven't you got anything better to do than play with yourself ?

10 Mar 2011 15:47

The Riflemans Arms, Glastonbury

What's happened to Malcom ?

10 Mar 2011 10:52

The Masons Arms, Warminster

Dr-Pangloss sounds just like a retired landlord doesn't he ?

5 Mar 2011 17:36

The Plough Inn, Taunton

matttom.....Dr_Pangloss, Paris_Hilton and Final_Arbiter is playing with himself again.

28 Feb 2011 17:24

The Albion, Winchester

Ha ha ha this is great ! Aaaah be fair, perhaps chattyman is a Polish, Albanian, Siamese landlord !?

28 Feb 2011 06:00

Bricklayers Arms, Larkfield

You and your apostrophes again !
Please check your BITE messages, I've asked you a question....I hope you can answer without taking the.....for once.....

26 Feb 2011 11:44

The Royal Oak, Hillcommon

Paris_Hilton, Final_Arbiter and Dr_Pangloss seem to have stopped slagging off countless pubs. What a coincidence ! Unfortunately I imagine when he's feeling better, he'll be back with his jealous, bitter, twisted, pompous claptrap.

12 Feb 2011 13:00

The Tom Cribb, Piccadilly

I like the way theskull writes !

25 Jan 2011 18:59

The Royal Oak, Hillcommon

Ha ha ha hilarious. Pan_Gloss has just sent me a private message calling me a sad puppy...This is exactly what Final_Arbiter called me. Unbelievable. He invited anyone to go to the King William in Glastonbury to go and find out his name.

18 Jan 2011 13:48

The Royal Oak, Hillcommon

Don't listen to Paris_Pangloss, just ignore this moronic imbecile. Make your own minds up. He'll create a new alias soon, I'll soon spot it, and let you all know.

16 Jan 2011 14:08

The Royal Oak, Hillcommon

So, Pangloss sends me a personal message through BITE, and now you post this. Along with Pangloss , are you constantly watching this pubs reviews then ? Can't you see the absurdity of that, not to mention the many other coincidences.

3 Jan 2011 05:01

The Royal Oak, Hillcommon

Final_Arbiter, Dr_Pangloss and Paris Hilton all seem to have a lot in common. Miserable, moaning, complaining, sarcastic, purely negative, bitter twisted, trouble making, provocative, not really reviewing nuisances. All mucking about with each other one way or another. When he creates another alias, don't worry, I'll easily spot it.

1 Jan 2011 14:53

The Air Balloon Tavern, St George

The spelling of D_Pangloss strikes again "for any rason other than desparation"
What happened to your slanderous pointless crap of The Royal Oak ?

29 Dec 2010 14:56

The Crown / Glastonbury Backpackers, Glastonbury

So, what is surreal about it ?

29 Dec 2010 13:00

The Royal Oak, Hillcommon

I've obviously been watching Pangloss's life of slander unfold. As for Mr. Singer, can you blame him for trying to find out who you are ?

29 Dec 2010 09:54

The Winchester Arms, Taunton

Ha ha ha ha love the word, "Plonkerama" !

For God's sake, even a monkey with learning difficulties can see that the pair of you are responding at the same time, and even the same place.
Question:- How many racist reviewers are there on BITE ?
Answer:- 2.....The_Final_Arbiter....."and I shall not return until these people go back to Normandy...George and Pilgrim in Glastonbury"
Dr_Pangloss....."Perhaps they should consider relocatiog (back to Ireland)...Royal Oak in Winsford"

There's plenty more, "coincidences".

24 Nov 2010 15:46

The Winchester Arms, Taunton

Ho ho, Oh dear, tut tut. You interfere with everything and everybody, you hurt countless people. You pick me up on an apostrophe just for the sake of your usual cocky slanderous ways. I warned you that I might take a leaf out of your book and follow you around sticking a mindless oar in. Good innit ?

24 Nov 2010 12:09

The Winchester Arms, Taunton

It's hoonkerama you increasingly semi literate pub pest, and there's plenty of evidence that suggests that you and The_Final_Arbiter are the same person.

24 Nov 2010 10:02

The Winchester Arms, Taunton

This Final_Arbiter / Dr_Pangloss pest meant, "I cant even give them 1 / 10 for trying, as they are even NOT doing that".

23 Nov 2010 19:46

The Beckets Inn, Glastonbury

So, Final_Arbiter and Dr_Pangloss mysteriously respond at the same time, what a coincidence ! What do you mean, go away ? You started it, all over a stray apostrophe. An horrendous mistake A ? In all seriousness, I think there's a hint of Alzheimer's about you, so I am gonna go away.

22 Nov 2010 20:17

The Beckets Inn, Glastonbury

Well, here's some examples of your writing, you interfering, stupid and bitter old man, and please don't bother pretending you're not Dr__Pangloss. Why do you go to any pub at all when you obviously hate all of them ?

semms, probale, elase, etc etc.....
Brandy seems right a right slapper.
Only one comment left on BITE semms strange for one seemingly so enthusiastic about beer as he /she seems strange.
I too agree with Final Arbiter's view on anontaunton's probale link with this pub
or anyone elase for that matter
in autumn it is cosy and welcomming and a delight to visit.
or whether productin has moved to Bury St

22 Nov 2010 11:53

The Beckets Inn, Glastonbury

My God, how infantile was that ? The apostrophe is optional, and split infinitives are acceptable, you petty minded, obnoxious amoeba. Anyway, was your monkey cage rattled because I mentioned the Final Arbiter, you know, the person that reviewed the pub in Thurloxton along with yourself ? What's the matter, were you not breast fed or something ? Maybe I'll follow your reviews about, and stick a mindless oar in.

15 Nov 2010 23:43

The Beckets Inn, Glastonbury

Ha ha ha my God ! How can ANYONE write so badly !? Imagine if Forestwood actually spoke the way he writes !!!
However, despite needing a deciphering machine to actually read what he's written, I do still agree with him. Brigid seems to be a bit better these days, but not great. She's never too far from being pretty pig ignorant and rude, and before the Final Arbiter say's, "what about the beer"? I'll always strongly point out that the service is at least as important as the booze itself. You can still have a fairly good time in there. Taking your own food in is a real bonus, and yes, although I'm no expert on real ales etc. I always feel that the beer there is particularly good.

15 Nov 2010 12:34

The George and Pilgrim, Glastonbury

Ha ha ha F-A's back ! Yes, I suppose the beer should be mentioned. To me, the staff, management etc are at least as important as the quality of the beer, and I have to say that I also think the quality of the staff is seriously plummeting. Julie tends to do the work of three people. Oh alright then, the beer's fine.....

14 Sep 2010 09:52

The Beckets Inn, Glastonbury

What a strange "review".....bieng should be being, and homeaphrodite should be hermaphrodite, no capitals or punctuation of course...One can obtain a capital letter by holding down the shift key, and then typing your desired letter. Four pounds is 4, not 4.....Nice man ? What do you mean ?
As for the pub, well, they seem to have been sort of forced into being a bit more polite, and reasonably well mannered. Forced I mean by having almost no custom. Poor old John I hear is pretty unwell.....

18 Aug 2010 13:40

The Market House Inn, Glastonbury

I can't believe that danchampion isn't screaming and whinging in the background somewhere, bleating that this is the best pub in the world...(not that it would make any difference)

25 Jul 2010 09:43

The George and Pilgrim, Glastonbury

Well, we now have proof that the Sunday roast dinners here definitely have more than three miniscule roast potatoes.

26 Apr 2010 19:56

The Market House Inn, Glastonbury

I thought so ! I wondered where all the positive reviews were coming from all of a sudden.
Oh well, the last post is the most honest post I've ever seen so far ! The actual owner has signed it "THE OWNER" ! Excellent !
I will watch that place with optimism.

12 Apr 2010 09:20

The George and Pilgrim, Glastonbury

Dear FA, aren't you over doing it a bit? For a start, the lock on the loo door so far has never been activated (locked), and anyway, why shouldn't they want to reduce outsiders from using the loo? As for the food, well, you may well be right. Pubs are just pubs. As for your "French" comment, isn't that a bit beneath you? Yes, they're French, and? I'm rarely happy with anywhere I must admit, but YOU. There is no pleasing you, it's OK in there. Maybe we should buy a pub between us and have a go at creating the perfect place?

12 Apr 2010 09:15

The Market House Inn, Glastonbury

If you really do not understand the significance of a police presence and an ambulance attending the Market House, I rest my case.....No doubt you will now follow this with some other ignorant comment. I have no idea who 'torsteve' is, but one thing's for sure, he's right ! Read it, and try to understand something.

7 Apr 2010 22:15

The Market House Inn, Glastonbury

Please DO NOT listen to the reviews by this 'danchampion' from Wells. Last Friday at the Market house, there was a significant police presence there, maybe the ambulance there had someting to do with it...It's like that the whole time.....Go and review pubs you're more familiar with.

7 Apr 2010 15:55

The George and Pilgrim, Glastonbury

It seems OK, good even. Never ending new management is very off putting, but the French connection seems alright. The landlady seems to be getting better. Maybe she's new to England or something, and YES....I have seen her smile at last...!
You never know, somebody there may even sort out those 2 or 3 obnoxious idiots permanently slumped at the right of the bar...

8 Feb 2010 08:08

The Mitre, Glastonbury

The "entrance" is still clogged with hideous, grotesque, fat smoking zombies. No new trade will EVER bother with this place. The new owners are nice idiots.

3 Feb 2010 13:57

The George and Pilgrim, Glastonbury

I think I was wrong about the new French manager, he seems pretty OK. We've yet to see the, "manageress" smile or anything other than appear hostile yet though.....I'm watching, come on, you can do it, "hello, how are you", you could say, go on, try it, it won't kill you.

17 Jan 2010 12:05

The George and Pilgrim, Glastonbury

Doh.....Gone already. Check out the new lot...Wonderful (Groan)(Next) !
The G and P will be as hospitable as the Market House Inn in no time !
Who is behind this phenomenal incompetence !

8 Jan 2010 09:37

The George and Pilgrim, Glastonbury

Indigenous people of Glastonbury, please correct me if I'm wrong, but I think there's been many many attempts over many years to eradicate the. "drain smell" or whatever it is, but have never been entirely successful. However, it has been much improved...I.E. it is very rare now that it can be smelt.
Meanwhile, I myself am very happy with the new couple running the place. Definitely my favorite place in Glastonbury to go, no complaints, advice or anything.....All good as far as I can see...

4 Dec 2009 10:44

The George and Pilgrim, Glastonbury

Come on, it's OK in here again. The husband and wife team seem great. The staff seem OK enough. Let's get posing !

27 Oct 2009 08:08

The Mitre, Glastonbury

It's like a three way split in here...Thug, gay, deserted...Take your pick...

27 Oct 2009 08:04

The Beckets Inn, Glastonbury

Dear Forestwood, I like your opinions and views, I really do, but your writing skills are non friggin existent ! It's so irritating. You write like a monkey with learning difficulties. PLEASE try harder. Open up a real book, and have a look.
You're obviously an OK person, you like Joan for a start. All the best people liked her. As for John who might find out who you are, blimey, who cares ? John isn't particularly stroppy, definitely not violent, just often and pointlessly sarcastic. He's basically OK. Such a damn pity he chose Brigid A ?
(I can't help thinking he thinks that in secret)

10 Oct 2009 17:32

The Beckets Inn, Glastonbury

Hello westonfan, I quite enjoy your dry comments. You sound like a cross between John and Mary. Sarcastic, yet refreshingly mature. I knew Joan well enough to know she was never rude to paying customers. Whatever Joan was like in private, well, we're all a bit like that aren't we ?
PS, wouldn't it have great if John and Mary had become an "item" and run the Beckets together !?

17 Sep 2009 18:46

The King Arthur, Glastonbury

Well...young couple, full of good intentions. Good Luck ! Very hospitable, very welcoming. Keen to make a living. Beer seemed great, also a pin table !
Juke box is well good. Advice ? PLEASE feep the inevitable scum out !

15 Sep 2009 21:30

The Beckets Inn, Glastonbury

Dear 123456789 (The cat sat on the mat) Who the hell's brigrett ? When you say, "you no who you are and grow", do you mean, "you know who you are, and should grow up" ? If you speak the way you write, you should be in a zoo. Sentences and names, eg Brigitte begin with a capital letter. Capital letters are the BIG letters. You have to hold down the "shift" button on your keyboard to make capital letters. Have a go. Finally, people DO have a right to their opinions, do you understand ?

10 Sep 2009 08:09

The Crown / Glastonbury Backpackers, Glastonbury

Yes, how can anything be so bad ? The disgrace of the high street.

2 Sep 2009 07:23

The Beckets Inn, Glastonbury

To think that the landlady is the "epitome of politeness" is madness. I used to love it there, but not anymore. I'm not pleased to say that I agree with the criticisms at all, but I have to. She really is bloody awful, there's no doubt about it. Thanks to her, it's a complete waste of a once very popular pub.
