Report for 2014.Not a Bad Pub,But also Not a Good Pub,Still nice for a hot Summers Day,Beer is not as good as it used to be,but still drinkable, usually get the rough end of Gatley going in there,But it is still Friendly.

High Grove, Gatley

The pub is still the same for July 2014.not a lot of custom nowadays, but it still has a decent pint of Real ale on offer.Pity it out of the way,(need a car to get to it) unless you live local,Its well worth the visit

The Lounge About, Northenden

This is by far the best place to go in Northy,
Small, cosy and friendly, gets very crowded when football on telly, but its worth it for the ever changing Real ales which are kept in fine form.
Nice to go in early afternoons when its quiet to really appreciate the place.

The Farmer's Arms, Northenden

I go here reguarlly but only for the beer as I would not eat here since the manager took over.
The urinal in the Gents is stained and smells of vomit and its been like this for Months.
The saying goes, you can tell if the kitchens are clean by looking at the toilets
No food for me thank you,Beer only

The Romper, Ringway

updating my 2005 review.
Still a lovely pub inside and out,now has good selection of guest real ales,
but beware its an expensive place in food and drinks, guest ales on average are 2.75 a pint,
Sat at the table in the garden next to me was Rio Ferdinand drinking his Budweiser, and the staff couldn't do enough for him, wish they would treat me in the same way. jealousey I guess.

The Prince of Wales, Gatley

not to bad a pub,but gets crowded, nice outside area for sunny days.
good real ales
The other day I got a bad pint and took it back to the bar,the barmaid said its supposed to taste like that,I informed her that I was a member of CAMRA and knew my ales, but she still insisted that I was wrong.
I could not complain to the manager as he was not available,so I bought a pint of different ale, which was on top form, I wish they would teach barstaff more about the product they sell.

4 Jul 2009 18:01

The Horse and Farrier, Gatley

This pub is now by far,the best place in Gatley,Great ale and always a guest ale on tap.
The Sunday carvery is well worth the price.
The staff are very freindly exept for one young chap who always looks as though hes got the world on his shoulders.

4 Jul 2009 17:44

Gothic Bar, Gatley

Used to go in quite often, but not anymore,as the ale quality has fell to almost undrinkable. On my last 3 visits Ive had to return my pints as they were badly kept.
And as the last reviews state, deadlegs frequent the place without control

12 Aug 2005 19:51

The Davenport Arms, Woodford

bit of a la-di-dah joint, where if you go to the bar with a fiver in hand, the person next to you will have a tenner in hand just to be better.
