On both occasions I've visited I was kept waiting about an hour for food which when it came was insubstantial and overpriced. Technically also a pub but if its just a few beers you want, better off going to the dove or the pub on the park

The Pub on the Park, London Fields
Good all-rounder and great in the summer, although can get a bit manic as the effects of drinking all day in the sun kick in! Food is of the old school stodge and grease variety, order at your peril!

One of the best places to watch football round this way as it has a big screen, isn't as packed as the Pub on the Park, and also usually does a free buffet! London Pride on tap but supply is a bit erratic. Full of liquid lunchers from Hackney town hall during the week.

Still a good pub but sad to say the famous Monday night quiz has gone right down the bog since Mike and Simon stopped doing it, the new bloke is about as charismatic as a paving stone. It can also get unbearably smoky in the evenings, get some ventilation in for god's sake!

The Florence, Herne Hill
friendly enough place, but none of the hand pumps have been working for the last three weeks, which is a pretty poor show. ditto the previous comments about the green paint
