Lewinnick Lodge, Newquay

Well lovely bar restaurant food is expensive and nothing special either Lager was old stock tasted of vinegar but was readily changed but great views and can be lovely to sit out ,, note of caution they are adding accomodation to turn it into a hotel i belive 20 rooms so maybe they are moving away from typical drop in drinker open for June 2012 maybe optomistic. its expensive to drink also but that keeps the Stagg hen nights out etc which cant be a bad thing .Lets see if theres increases in prices to pay for alterations etc .

Have to agree was once a good pub fantastic views ever changing staff so atmosphere is whens shift finishing attitude and drinks are expensive but as was once said here you pays for the view and also the extension or what i think is the Ocean bar all sky and football me thinks.
Food is plainly average and deep fried fare if thats your choice .
Ale is ok not kept in excellent condition as am certain through put of ale drinkers is limited maily lager pub tho several hand pumps on tap ususal Doom Bar Skinners choice,

The Cornishman, Crantock

Unusual pub seems to be off a housing estate when you enter and not typical of when it was the Seagul many years back , friends call it the Formica . beer is good but overall only drop in as and when really

Well what a pleasent suprise past owners gone bust new owners in now and 100% better the bogs have been cleaned and you can now put your glass down on the counter and tables without them sticking to the grime ,, all strength to the new couple making a real good go of it and is now by far coming back to its rightful place as village pub
Ale was tip top and so was lager tho they ran out of Fosters as its proving so popular no seating room last week all tables full on a couple of nights and food is good. So will be back in end of May on next visit locals also in abundance once again .

We love this pub as we enjoy sitting on the balcony in the sun drinking real ale thats available. Best time to visit is out of season.

The Miners Arms, Mithian

Went here for the first time since Simon left a few years back quite a nice with real locals as opposed to holiday home locals, good beer didn't eat but had a good reputation may visit again during our trip in October.

The Driftwood Spars Hotel, St Agnes

Well went here after first vist during May 08 though in August this year it seemed less busy . On a hot summers day late afternoon would of expected more people maybe recession is biting. Had a pint of what was local or there own real ale which sadly seemed insispid and bland. However it may of been effected by the overpowering smell of dogs even though there was only one present during time of visit. Sadly to say another good looking pub from the outside that disapointed once we entered due to the the sticky flooring and poor real ale.

We always vist this pub on our many trips to the area, great real ale and some nice ciders on offer, always easy to get served even when busy and nice views of harbour from window seats during the day. Mostly locals in here which is always a good sign except for one or two tanked up tourists in peak season highly recommend this pub, enjoy the food also.

The Fort Inn, Newquay

Fantastic views and good selection fo beers and are kept in tip top condition food is ok however eatin on a couple of occasions and chips are always cold.
Pity Simon has gone as the new manager is never seen, which maybe a good or bad thing, best to sit outside as the inside can be like a school dinner time if you get the timing or month wrong.

We both love this pub with great beer views and nice interior , booked table whilst in for a beer and arrived three days later to be told no record of booking when it had been clearly rubbed out in the book as could be clearly seen.
Had to then wait over an hour for a suitable table which meant eating at nearly 10.00 in the evening. However will go back during trip in October as we like it so much.

Go here several times a year great beer great food and good staff a nice feel to this pub any time of year maybe not as busy as past years during july and august.

The Old Albion, Crantock

Should be a fantastic pub has the picture postcard effect from outside but what a disapointment inside needs a complete through clean and smells of dogs. The toilets are an absolute disgrace when compared to other pubs in the area. Food if you like frozen then its your cookie if not best avoided, staff are miserable and when you think we are in a recession and good service to attract custom should be the norm sadly not here, as some one else said avoid avoid avoid .
