The Newton Arms, Holborn

Not bad at all in the Newton.Lively crowd that reminded me of a 70's atmosphere.mind you it was getting on for closing time....Good boozer.it had the feel of a "local"

The Lyceum, Strand

The pub itself is a really nice venue.Great private booths and a nice location.unfortunately,it is staffed (like so so many others) who are less than proficient in the English language.Still worth a look and a pint of stout before McDonalds move in.

The Coal Hole, Strand

Good atmosphere and handy for pub hopping along the Strand and Covent Garden.Interesting interior.an endangered specied methinks.Definitely will be re visiting in the future.

Nell of Old Drury, Covent Garden

Great little "battle-cruiser".well worth a visit whilst on a Covent Garden crawl.

The Nell Gwynne, Covent Garden

We had the pleasure of visiting "The Nell" twice last weekend.Upon our return we promptly signed the petition hopefully slowing the dismantlement of our pub infrastructure.A real gem of a pub tht reeks of history and times long gone by.Spread the gospel and try to save this little diamond of a boozer. We'll be back there soon.

The Green Man and French Horn, Covent Garden

Always a civil welcome here. And you certainly DO NOT get that at very many West end pubs.Ale always in good condition, although I haven't eaten here (in my book, you eat in restaurants or cafes)the food looked good and plentiful.Never passed this pub, always called in.One of my locals.Good boozer.

The Glasshouse Stores, Piccadilly Circus

I agree about the late licence.Sick to the back teeth of bloody London pubs ramming me out of the door at 10.30 sharp on a sunday night. This pub is a great little place and does a great line in Sam Smiths ales.Recommended and also one of my locals in the West end.

The Duke of Argyll, Soho

This little diamond of a boozer is my London local.Been coming here for years and it feels like I'm in my local at home.Landlady Jenny will go out of her way to welcome us back again. This type of pub is extremely endangered and should be supported whenever possible. We do!!
Excellent Sam Smiths ales.and at 2 for under a fiver (pints that is) it's impossible to knock it.THE BEST!

The Garrick Arms, Trafalgar Square

Stood next to Billie Piper here last week and enjoyed a pint or two on several occaisons over the Easter period.A pub I normally use on my London trips.Never found anything wrong with this boozer.

The Tom Cribb, Piccadilly

Nowt wrong with the "Tom Cribb".When it's boiling hot in the middle of summer I always head there.Got great air con.Great boozer.

The White Horse, Soho

Ignore the comments about the beer being "cack".It's just that the submitter doesn't like Sam Smiths ales.Try any of the bitters, wheat beer or stout.Whats more,at this present moment in time, you'll still get 2 for a fiver!I always make a point of using the "horse" whenever I'm in London. The regulars are a great crowd and the big lad behind the bar is good for a laugh and always has the crack with us.

Golden Lion, Soho

Walked in,then straight back out of this boozer more than any of the others in the West end.Bar staff couldn't care a toss whether they served you or not.If you catch it on a good night it's worth a pot or two in there.A pub I've used (infrequently) for some years now.

The Imperial, Soho

No one will break the land speed record to serve you here! And thats a tried and tested observation..not a one off.Location gets a higher mark from me.beer's usually ok.Gives the impression it has its regular crowd.A pub I normally use on my London visits.

The Chandos, Trafalgar Square

If you can stop the bar staffs conversation, you'll be fine.as you may be under the illusion you're invisible.Apart from that the ale's bang on.price is excellent, just remember the lager, bitter and stout are STILL below 2.30 a pint!

The Bear and Staff, Leicester Square

Apart from us 4 and a couple of others this pub was virtually deserted on sunday lunch time around 1 in the afternoon.Glared at by the barmaid for offering a little Northern humour.Decided on the Guinness for a change.Been going in this pub for years.Even before they bought the tobacconists "Inderwicks" next door to make the pub bigger.

The Battle of Trafalgar, Trafalgar Square

Now this bar has pre-empted the no smoking ban it was totally empty the last time I ventured in.And at 9 for a large gin and tonic it has seen my last visit.
