The Elk Bar, Fulham

This is not a pub in the trditional sense but is a very popular bar with the chinless wonders who inhabit Fulham. Expensive and charmless, like the punters.

Lever is correct. Two staff, one was talking to the only other person at the bar, while the other was serving him. We stood for fully two minutes before walking out, and it was only then that they tried to serve us. Got my own back though; used their toilet for a poo one day and didn't buy a drink.

Random Ranger is spot on. I've never seen so many unhappy people in one place. It's like walking into a funeral, with sh*te beer.

The Dukes Head, Putney

A lovely location on a beautiful summer's evening. Unfortunately, I wish I'd stayed outside enjoying the weather.
Quite possibly one of the worst pints of Guinness I've ever had. And served in a plastic glass, despite the fact we were sitting inside as we were wanting to eat.
The food was nothing to write home about, though it wasn't dreadful.

Who says the credit crunch is a bad thing? If holes like this are forced to close down then I want two credit crunches. Each week.

The Trout, Hammersmith

those soulless 'pubs' in airports, this place makes them look like the Ritz. It's a dive, the beer's awful and if you were to go to the pub at the end of the universe, it would look like this, full of people waiting to die.

THE Distillers, Hammersmith

a vast improvement, and all the cheap booze drinking, drug-addled pikeys who used to drink here are left to swig cans of Ace in the street. Smart place.

The Elephant and Castle, Kensington

this is a really nice little back-street pub, if a little posh, but hey, it is in Kensington.

The Prince of Wales, Kensington

Used to drink here 20 years ago, read all the negative comments so checked it out. The staff were ok, apart from a Polish(?) 'manager' who couldn't even manage to speak English. Clearly a pub geared towards tourists, or anyone else who thinks that a hovel selling beer at extortionate prices constitues a pub.

great place for men with beards

The Castlenau, Barnes

this pub has made more comebacks than Status Quo, with varying degrees of success. This latest incarnation is easy on the eye, if not on the wallet. As a result it is frequented by the local caravan park owners rather than the chavs who live on them.Nice comment from the manager below.I 'definalty' won't be going back

what's worrying is that some bright spark actually thought a plastic vapid place like this on a busy roundabout would make for an upmarket watering hole. Well it is a hole alright.Just dreadful. We got the wrong drinks in warm glasses, though to be fair to the three staff, there were about 15 customers there at the time and some of them wanted serving. You'd have a better night out in Prmark.

The Richmond, Hammersmith

the only pub where i've refused to drink a pint and not even bothering to ask for something else.Dead heat with the Hop Poles for beer quality, hence the cheap price.Just a dreary place, like the fairground workers who drink there. Good pool tables.

Edwards Bar, Hammersmith

'paddyknowsbest' has got it spot on. The only thing he missed out on was that it fills up with semi-clad p***heads for School Disco nights who must have spent their real schooldays learning to be pr**ks. The fact that the Lloyds bar next door is better says everything.Edwards: nil points

The Old City Arms, Hammersmith

invaded by Polish staff as is the rule for the new 'guvnor', though they're easy on the eye. Didn't take long for the Barnes inbreeds to move back in after having been barred for years. That said, good spot to watch sports and good beers, especially the Guiness. And the most racist man in the world drinks there too.
