The Grange, Dudley

This has been shut for a few years but they've been refurbishing it and there are signs up outside saying it's going to be a freehouse- I'll keep you posted!

Great real pub!

The Giffard Arms, Wolverhampton

One to hit for the atmosphere and experience rather than the ale which is a bit up and down, though at least they do always have cask on.

This rocker, biker, goth, alternative pub is worth visiting for the teeth adorned throne and coffin shaped tables.

Dont be put off by the leather clad and tattood - I have never witnessed any trouble in this pub unlike many of the modern and downright boring drinking venues in town.

Edward's Bar, Wolverhampton

No longer Edwards!

Since then has been Reflex (watered down vodka a speciality) and now is a 90s bar that strangely I have not frequented!

Hogshead, Wolverhampton

Bringing real ale to the masses?

This is the sort of modern town centre pub that I can take my poncy lager drinking friends! They usually have around 8 cask conditioned ales on and it was here that I had my first experience of Enville Ginger Beer - wow! The staff are efficient - to the point that if the bar becomes overstaffed you can get table service!

There is a yard for smokers at the rear, and a pool table.

Two little things - I find the ladies room to smell a damp on more than one visit, and it is rowdy and crowded on a match day.

Royal London, Wolverhampton

I was in here on Monday evening, no there are no cask conditioned ales, but the Strawberry beer is a different pint and although possibly an aquired taste - I think I could have drunk a heck of a lot of this nectar!

I did not find issue with the staff, they were polite, happy and friendly.

Okay, so the food is snacky and basic, not gormet but they do some topped chips as 'sharers' that I highly recommend to keep you going on a pub crawl - we had cheese and chorizo topped curley fries, bliss!

O'Neills Irish Bar, Wolverhampton

This pub has changed hands and is now known as Flanigans.

They have some real cider on tap, but I found it to be very quiet on 9pm on a Friday night.

Combermere Arms, Wolverhampton

Great quirky pub! Well kept ale! Like pubs should be!

Live music is usually on a Saturday night, in a cobbled semi-enclosed area at the back, but this pub is also god for a quiet drink in the week.

The Warstones Inn, Penn

Save the community pub! At this time, since the previous licensee left in the summer of 2008, the Warstones has been quiet.

This art deco style pub has a bar and lounge, pool table, jukebox and large rear garden. At this time they have not had the recent level of custom to put a cask conditioned ale on.

Chindit, Wolverhampton

A great little real ale pub, that does a good pint and has regular live music and beer festivals.
