Thinks its in Soho, looks like its in some crappy seaside resort. The fake mahogany wood is thinly veneered, as are the clientelle.
I had 2 pints and the second was really only because I found that watching all the idiots in this place was like a bizarre lesson in anthropology, and I found it so amusingly up on itself.

This place is just getting worse and worse.
Paper peeling off the walls, hideous loud echoey acoustics due to lack of soft furnishings (and customers if they arent careful), tiny bar (why isnt the whole thing used), chairs and stools stacked in the disabled lift, I can go on.
There is a vivid sense of this place being unloved and cynically used to pay someones wages. I doubt the owner goes here much unless its to colect the loot.
Such a shame, as the location is great and the area is crying out for good proper pubs

Lovely odd place, yes the light are a bit too bright for the ambience there but thats about it.
Oh and how about some other ciders?

The Royal Standard, Wandsworth
No longer a TUP, owned by Massive still tho.
Seems to be one of the only real pubs in the area. Real people and no pretentions to be a gastropub (bring your own food !!)

A well presented pub just about managing to retain character despite the increasingly tiring "Youngs" Chocha Mocha decor. Great decked area loooking over river, with a BBQ kitchen and seperate bar.
Wandsworth is dire for drinking but at least in summer you can come here

Half the pub is now no smoking. All this seems to do is draw the "builder type" chelsea fans to the front of the pub. leaving the back (airport lounge bit)spookily quiet.
Sport is piped at a ridiculous level even on a monday

Great pub !
Friendly localy pub, with nice staff, and good food.
Tends towards the quieter which makes for a nice place to go for a chat with mates etc.
Has a dartboard too which is a rarity these days.
In the summer, alll sorts of peculiar events go on here.
Nice change from the chavvy chelsea pubs on maple road

Theres something I cant define missing from the place as well. It has an Airport lounge feel, needs something to make it more homely

The only decent place for those escaping upturned collars, chavs and gold digging bints.
Needs better cider choices than the typical Slagners tho.
I was welcomed and I return because of it
