The Star Inn, Rochdale

I never frequented the star before its refurbishment, but it certainly looks much nicer now. For me the decor is a bit too sterile for a pub, but it might get a bit better with age.

It's worth a visit just for the price of the beer. A pretty broad selection of Sam Smiths on offer and one of the cheapest pints around!

The Baum, Rochdale

So glad to have found such a perfect pub in Rochdale!

A lovely pub with a great atmosphere during the afternoon and early evening. Fantastic choice of foreign beers and British ales on tap which change regularly and an extensive Belgian beer menu.

Prince of Wales, Helston

Nice pub for a good quality evening meal and some local ales and cider on tap.

Food is traditional pub grub done well and the bar serves some of the more unusual local ales. My favourite has to be the Heligan Honey, but it's definately worth trying the very local Lizard Ale whilst you're in the area.

Really nice beer garden at the rear and also a campsite for those who want to have the Prince of Wales as their local whilst on holiday.

The Live and Let Live, Cambridge

Decided to make a change last night and go to the Live instead of our reaular, the Cambridge Blue. Was not dissapointed!

It's a quieter, smaller pub but with a great choice of real ales and ciders. Lots of Oakhams Ales, including the favourites but they also had the Untouchable IPA (take care at 9% and tasting so good!).

Ferryboat Inn, Helford Passage

What a lovely place to sit outside on a warm summers day with a beer. We walked 12 miles of the costal path and finished it off with a couple of Cornish Rattler ciders and a pint of Proper Job.

Really good beer selection and lovely location by the Helford River. I'd advise walking there or taking the Helford ferry, I wouldn't want to drive it on a dark night!

The Gweek Inn, Gweek

The meal we had here was really dissapointing. Cold pie, instant mash, frozen sausages. Maybe they just had a bad night...but I won't be eating here again.

Proper Job and Betty Stoggs on tap though - two of my cornish favouites!
