The Gribble Inn, Oving

Heard about it did not believe it but it is true Oving now has a beach !!, had to go and look for myself and yes they have dug up and shingled the garden, tragic, would not go in if the beer was free anymore, poor old Gribble.

The Fox Inn, Felpham

Funny that this pub has sudenly got three reviews hyping it up again and all from people that have never used site before, reading my honest personal opinion, so bad when pubs start this nonsence just for their own image

The Four Chestnuts, Chichester

Nearly as bad as the Gribble nowerdays, big tv loud yobs at bar poor kept beer wonder if son returning from short stint at The Bull a few hundred yards away has as much to do with them not able to cope without him, as it is that he went bust. Do not go there there are so many better pubs in Chichester

The Gribble Inn, Oving

This pub was the worst run pub in West Sussex with the rudest couple running it we have ever met going out anywhere, then it got better, much much better in everyway you could think of, sadly now the last tenants have gone, 'to their own freehouse I heard' well good for them I am sure with their skills they will do well, but that does nothing for the poor old Gribble, which is now sufering again - poor food high prices old riff raff back 'although I am sure they will be booted out soon' beers are good as you would expect from Rob Cooper, mobil phones back kids now aLOUD anywhere. Went in two weeks ago on a Saturday Evening to find local birthday bash going on, and we could hear the foul goings on at the bar from in the 'Gastro bit' we were in for our grub 'very descript' no more old fav's just small portions at high prices, read some of the other reviews so expect to be insulted by local pleb's and ex manager Brian, very soon. Not for us anymore unless the Stones return, but I am sure that being the real deal they would hold to the Landlords code and not return even for a visit ever PITY brainless Brian and his abusive tribe dont hold to this code but he probably does not even know it.

The Fox Inn, Felpham

Sorry but no cigar had not been to the Fox for a while and after reading their own hype I was looking forward to my visit over Christmas, what a shame, used to be so good but now it just does not live up to the hype, food below average, beer hazy, probably to many on for the turnover so not kept well, you are made to feel like you are just another holiday maker from Butlins, and the landlady was quite rude to me when I asked about why there were no longer Gribble Brewery Beers on as, all good pubs should 'and most do' suport their local Breweries, I am a member of local West Sussex CAMRA and dont know of any reason for them blow on about how much we love them and I heard in the pub that the other garden award was won becouse they were the only entry. Never mind the Old Barn and the George inn in the same village live up to the Foxe's hype and are well worth a visit.

So much better than it ever was before I was going to a local lad from Ovings cremation so not a good day for me, and after my run in with the drunken lowlife locals at the Gribble the night before, I decided to try another local and hold my own wake for my late friend very friendly good beer food hit the spot and the Landlady's built like a landlady should be wonderfull
