North Hampshire branch of CAMRA are holding their launch of the Good Beer Guide 2009 at The Queens on Tuesday 14th from 8pm. Should be a good night with lots of fantastic real ales to try.

Closed at 6pm on New Years eve? what is all that about. Have heard that the original owners have sold it to someone else as of a couple of weeks ago. Wonder what the future has in store?

The Portsmouth Arms, Basingstoke
Really enjoyed this pub. Good food and quality Badgers beers. Service was very good (surprisingly)considering the age of most of the staff (under 25). Even took our dog which the managment welcome with a big bowl of water and a handfull of biscuits, nice touch...

disagree with fiftyfive - i have always found the pub staff to be really friendly and welcoming. are you sure you had the right pub!?
