The Highbury Vaults, Bristol

Lovely pub but run by the surliest owners I have ever met - funny characters but I get the impression they'd rather be running a pub in the middle of nowhere. Cheer up you miseries!

Walkabout, Shepherds Bush

Indeed, an awful rat's nest.

I'm always suspicious of places that enforce a 'them and us' mentality as seen in the delightful post below: "If you don't enjoy the Walky then don't go coz we don't want you there". What a foul stinking pit. Leave this place to the slobs that like it and stay far far away.

The Cardinal, Victoria

Home to some great Sam Smith brews, well worth a visit in winter, a little dark in the summer.

The Langley, Covent Garden

This bar/club doubles as a replica of the gates of hell - absolutely horrendous place full of desperate office workers trying to have a good time and forgetting their mundane existences by drinking way too much and sloshing around in the dark, dank pit that is the Langley. AVOID.

All Bar One, Notting Hill Gate

DO NOT GO HERE - WHAT A WASTE OF TIME

The Prince of Wales, Holland Park

I totally agree with the last post - if you're hungry, go down the road to the briliant (if slightly more expensive) Academy.

Drinks are a tad pricey at the Prince O Wales but where else can you get a decent GERMAN wheat beer? (the wheat beer from the Sam Smith pub on Portabello road is good but not as good as at the prince of Wales)

The Kenilworth Castle, Notting Hill

What a grimy place. The one time I visited a guy was sick on the stairs and in the toilets, all over the place. It's got a real dole scum feel about it - footy on the tv 24hrs a day and generally, a bitter (not the drink) man's pub. Avoid if possible.

The Fleece Inn, Bretforton

Absolutely wonderful place. I have been several times over the years and, despite the devestating fire, it's retained its character, locals and most importantly, the excellent beer! Highly recommended, in winter to escape the cold and especially in summer when the garden's sunny. Good stuff.

The Vauxhall Inn, Evesham

I had my first pint here - I was 15, which tells you somehting about the place! Generally unremarkable, little to differentiate itself from the other pubs to be found in Evesham.

The Railway Hotel, Evesham

Landlord is not the best but the darts board saves the place. On a music-free night (it has to be said the music has improved over the past few years: from absolute trash to poor), push the tables to the side, ask for some darts and do what pubs were designed for..
