Good local pub with best pint being Doombar,which is normally kept well. Food OK. though nothing mindblowing.
Rocky the parrot can be a bit vocal.
Not sure about the fly business on previous posting.
I am a local and have never been bothered about flies in the pub and they also have a zapper to take care of any ones that do get in.

The Horse Pond Inn, Castle Cary
Revamped in the summer 2008 and now back to being the best pub in Cary. Also good food with new chef and new menu with very good local reputation.
