The Queens Head, Hammersmith

I've been there twice in the five days. Contrary to the recent comments, I haven't found the staff to be rude. Yesterday evening one called me 'sir' and another was happy to engage in friendly banter. Maybe I caught them on good days.

The beer garden is quite spaceous but because of the surrounding houses and some tree canopy there's little chance of direct sun light.

The Prince Albert, Notting Hill

I was there yesterday evening, which was a Friday evening. Understandably it was packed and we had to stand. Didn't try the food, but there's a good selection of beer.

The management have to be congratulated for not playing pointless piped music that would have drowned out conversation. Bravo!

The Nags Head, Covent Garden

There's nothing good about this pub apart from it's close vicinity to Covent Garden tube. It has no endearing qualities. It's too small and crowded. Use it as a meeting place, then move on.

The Prince Albert, Notting Hill

If it wasn't for the warm London Pride and running out of most of their bitters, I would have given this place 6 out of 10. Despite it's good location I'm forced to give this a poor 3 out of 10. The music was slightly on the loud side too. If I want loud music I'll go to a club dancefloor.

The Marquis of Granby, Covent Garden

I find there's nothing particularly special about the pub itself. However the location is central and it isn't too big, so you can get served in reasonable time. Best to use it as a place to meet-up, then move on after a swift drink.

Albertine Wine Bar, Shepherds Bush

This is a charming little wine bar in Shepherds Bush. Probably the only sane place to drink and get away from the rotten hoards and constant stream of traffic. Food isn't too bad either.
