The Newcastle Arms, Nottingham
It's now more than closed. I doubt it'll be a pub again.
It's now student accomodation.

Ahh the Bell. My favourite place in town, especiallyon Sunday afternoons and Monday evenings.
The food is generally good, and they really promote Local beer - big promoter of CAMRA's LocAle scheme.
They are big on Nottingham brewery, though there usually 3 ro 4 guests on as well - a different one in each bar usually.
Surprisingly this is a Greene King pub. Thankfully this isn't evident when you're there. A blessing and a sign that the pub is serious about being a pub rather than a corporate entity. Long may it continue!

Fade and The Hard to Find Cafe, Nottingham
Fade generally has an uninspiring menu (though this is due to change) but the quality is generally excellent.
They have a wide range of bottled beers, and a draft - at the moment Nottingham Rock.
Not your usual pub but a great place to wend and hour or two away.

The Hand and Heart, Nottingham
Definitely not closed.
An unusual pubs, although Notts has more than it's fair share of cave pubs.
Food. Slightly on the extrvagant side, so high prices than a typical pub. However the food is worth the money in my experience.
Beers. Changes very regularly, sometimes whilst your there. I like my beer a bit cooler but that's purely personal preference. You'll always find a good beer here, though the changes often mean you may not see the same one twice.
Lots of live local bands on a well for all tastes (Jazz, folk to well whatever). Worth a visit.

Ye Olde Golden Lion Inn, Keswick
A more traditional style pub, though with a large choice of Rock Music on the jukebox.
The bar staff were fine and attentive. The Lancaster Blonde (one of 3 Real Ales, the other being a Old Peculiar and a Wychwood offering) was on exceellent form and we called back most nights for a pint or two. Food was also excellent.
It feels like a local pub rather than a Tourist bar and prices were competative for the lakes. Worth a visit.
