Chain pub. OK for a quick and average pub meal. Staff all eastern european, efficient but bored. Beer expensive. Noisey main road.

The George and Dragon, Ramsdell
This is a nice pub, with a good bar. The massive garden backs onto fields and woods, which is just a simple lawn with tables. The midgies love it here though! The food can be really good or really poor. Must depend on who's in the kitchen, which is a shame because this could be a very good destination for a quality meal. We don't risk it any more - but visit often for a peaceful beer!

I love this pub. Full of local banter and Terry the landlord is just wonderful. Always a genuine hello and good bye AND a thank you. The beer is excellent, as is the atmoshere. Can get very smokey - but not for long! Always busy without feeling overcrowded. Best pub and best beer in the area, by a mile. No food, no piped music, just a pub. Perfect.

The Pineapple, Brimpton Common
The beer is really well kept, and is the best pint of Pride around - but, and its a big but - it used to be our local for a nice little meal, but we've been disappointed on 3 consecutive visits, so have stopped eating there. I think it has changed hands a couple of times in the last 2 years - but appears to remain busy. Just a little too expensive to risk a 4th disappointment. When it was good - I'd would have given it 8.

The White Hart, Charter Alley
I can only give this 2 points as having confirmed on their website that they served food on Monday evenings, myself and friends visited the pub, only to be turned away by a really rude barman, who stated they didn't do food on Monday evenings (only for residents).
Terrible experience. Shame, as the pub has a great selection of beers and good menu. Therefore the 2 points are for the selection of beers, which we didn't get to taste.
