The Horse and Jockey, Chorlton cum Hardy

Pretty nice environment to sit and have a drink, but in my opinion choice of lager and cider is poor.
Don't bother with the food either.... Frankly overpriced for what they are serving, you could go to a proper restaurant for the prices they are charging and at least then you'd get table service and wouldn't be expected to pick up your own cutlery and sauces from a table like a Wetherspoons.

We were a table of 10, they forgot 1 order and the rest were far from exemplary especially considering the price. The potted salmon salad turned out to be two turgid pots of oil with fishy shards floating around and a couple of sprigs of lettuce. If you are going to call something a salad then it should resemble it!

It's trying very hard to be a high end gastropub, but apart from the prices, failing miserably. The menu is unimaginative and badly executed. FIne for a quiet drink, but nothing else.

The Patch, East Dulwich

Lovely now its refurbished, not that I went to old one ever, so can't compare.

Haven't tried the food yet, but everything else seems in order.

The Alleyns Head, West Dulwich

The Place is okay... If you've ever been to an ember inns then you've been here.

Food is unexciting, expensive but at the same time is served promptly and there's never actually anything wrong with it, it just doesn't excel.

Good selection of real ales, coming in at moderate prices (below 2.50), just look out for buying bottles. A Smirnoff Ice pops in at about 3.80 which is just ridiculous! (not that I would drink such a abomination)

Quizzes on sunday and thursday are always fun and are certainly worth checking out, but this pub is certainly not worth travelling for.

Considering the place is never dirty, staff are generally friendly and service is prompt, I don't think it's fair for this pub to get a rating of 3.6 just becuase of the horrible decor. There's got to be worse places out there, places that perhaps need a lick of paint. Just because the head is the most unoriginal plastic place under the sun doesn't place it that low.

The Commercial, Herne Hill

Great Refurb... Much better than the old commerical in all aspects except for price. It rivals the Dog for sheer expense, the cheapest beer comes in at 2.50 and a whopping 3.60 for a Hoegarden. Still well worth it for the nice surrondings and board games.

A perfect place to have a quiet sunday drink, perhaps not the place to start off on a friday night.
