Ye Olde White Harte, Hull

great historic pub with tons of original fittings and features with a lovely courtyard . great selection of beers and lagers . no music or tv and this definitely makes it quiet when only a few in but there's always something to see and talk about . Can appear dark and dingy after coming in from the sun as there's very few windows . Windows they have are all frosted or stained and leaded !...Cosy near fire when its cold outside . Kitchen closed currently . Not the most disabled accessible place but staff friendly and I assume would assist as required ( toilets up a few steps etc ). Definitely a tourist visit for the real ale lover !

George Hotel, Hull

A new landlord with great enthusiasm for the place and its history . Definitely pulled its socks up up over the last year or so . Clean , refreshed and getting popular with all ages . Good circuit pub at weekend as are all in that area but with a sensible weekday crowd . A small but tasty menu and looking at expanding to the current underused function room upstairs . Great selection of real ales and the usual lagers for the boys! Pipers crisps , pickled eggs , DVD playing of old pubs of Hull ( available to buy), covered smoking area in the old courtyard , also getting a makeover , what more do you need . Oh yes nice new toilets !!..... Original bench seating along the back wall with stools facing . And my partner particularly noticed that ALL the bulbs in the chandeliers work every time we go in !!. And check out the smallest window , always popular and what makes the bar famous!!

The Kingston Hotel, Hull

Another pub with a make over but actually in keeping . Wooden floor could do with a varnish though ! Decent selection of real ales but I stick with Mansfield Smooth . Plenty of lager and alcopops for the circuit crowd on a weekend as a few decent drinking bars in area now . Always seems to play 80s music when I'm in at varying levels depending on crowd in ( not a problem for me !). Clientele ranges from older regulars to a stag and hen party in last weekend. Not the biggest pub and can get crowded but plenty of floor space ( no clutter just a few tables and chairs round the outside ). Little room available with a couple of tables and stools and a TV ( Tuggers Snug ?) . Some great hull history pictures and memories of the river pilots .

The Green Bricks, Hull

Had a makeover recently . Inside and out. Toilets and main bar updated .Good spot on Marina when sun out . Blackrock Restaurant attached now doing some good food ( steaks, grills etc ) and `special` nights. Some real ales on and good selection of bottles . Service friendly and definitely ok to take kids ( plenty of sweet and toy vending machines to keep them busy) . Non intrusive TV for sports and a great random selection of music at varying volumes dependant on crowd. Its still a `town` pub at weekends with a good crowd however fairly relaxed rest of the week . Great to sit outside when sun shines and watch the boats . Deserves to be busier

Green Dragon, Beverley

Just moved to Beverley. Went for quiet pm drink and was pleasantly surprised. Large pub but still cosy , with friendly staff who let me have a taster of a lovely ale which I cant remember the name of, but better than the Corporate Tetley stuff I was going to buy. Nice sunny outside area for a smoke , and good food menu looking at it. 8/10

The Kings Arms, Brighton

Is now renamed Project 56 with friendly new managers . Completely refurbed with a new upstairs . Modern deco with a touch of campery and a fab bar top which lights up when you touch it !! Selection of draught lagers , and even got iced vodka on tap! John Smiths just put back in after requests! Shots menu also available.
Regular cabaret which boasts to start on time ( so far not in my experience but sure only teething troubles). Very clean and spacious. Opposite the queens arms and off St James St so on main gay drag ( no pun intended).

The Queens Arms, Brighton

Gay (mixed) pub, quietly boring weekdays but comes alive at weekend. Great cabaret and always packed when something on . Very touristy and always seems to be an excited hen party in (boo!) to see the queens in Queens. Bar staff mostly friendly but efficient. Not cheap by any means for drinks but you do get free cabaret!! Small Phil Starr lounge to chill in at the rear, leads to a small smoking patio (shelf?) . Again usual lagers and shots, some happy hours but still not that cheap! Very vocal local in-crowd on Sundays

The Zone Bar, Brighton

Welcoming one room mixed bar near Bulldog. Busy mixed crowd with drag or vocalists every weekend. Regular charity events . Friendly efficient staff. Serves usual lagers and John Smiths. Speciality in shots and jaegerbombs! happy hours, karaoke and just a damn good night out !!

The Bulldog Tavern, Brighton

gay cruisy mostly male pub at ground floor, but popular all day with everyone as good music , cheap drinks nearly always, and good door policy and staff. Upstairs just done out and bigger space with stage and karaoke. Toilets downstairs, clean and working. Small but packs a lot in at busy times. ( ps; hen parties need not apply!)

The Aquarium, Brighton

Popped in yesterday for a pint while passing as board outside saying under new management. They were decorating but still serving. All the paraphenalia gone ( forever hopefully) so wait for baited breath for completion . Brewery owned but didn`t get which one . Used to like it previously but really went down the nick last few months. rating is fior what it used to be . Will update when refurb complete
